Honestly, with how the pokemon games have been after the jump to 3D, Gamefreak needs to be removed as the devs for the video game side to survive and evolve. Gamefreak is wildly incompetent with their coding, and have no clue how to efficiently work with a 3d environment. They keep removing features people love and want to see become a regular thing in every game in exchange for one off gimmicks. Not to mention that they don't even have their better people working on this literal money printer and instead have them working on some unknown IP that will most likely bomb in comparison.
@Anonymous Jack III, could not agree more and am calling on all pokemon fans to boycott the upcoming games. Let's show them they cant get away with this bs
@AWildMagikarp, no boycott in history has ever worked.
@Child Slapper, that's nothing but wrong https://www.ethicalconsumer.org/ethicalcampaigns/boycotts/history-successful-boycotts
They need to stop these yearly releases, it doesn't help a franchise stay relevant, it oversaturates the market with overly similar games and a lack of content and pushes people away.
@Anonymous Jack III, lol exactly why i stopped playing pokemon after diamond, its the same game over and over with a new gimmick
Well pokemon is an empire rivaled by none any delays delay cards, anime, and all other new merchandise not just games
@eleven, NOT THE DELAY CARDS!!
@Janky McSkanky, yes the delay cards
@eleven, which is probably what makes it even worse, they need to delay the game (since they refuse to hire more people which they can most certainly afford) but they can’t because everything else pokemon related is waiting on those games
@Toxia, I saw something that said Gamefreak only puts about $20 million towards the pokemon games, despite making back hundreds of millions in sales (think Let's Go made back 600+ million while Sun, Moon, and USUM made over 1 billion). For 3DS that was pushing it but fine, but for a console game, especially for something like the Switch, that's not nearly enough. There should be more than enough to put more than 20 million back into their games, so why don't they? Where are all those hundreds of millions going?
@Toxia, heck they could probably borrow some from Nintendo reworking the pre-existing models and animations probably isn’t nearly as difficult as they say it is and Nintendo owes them as much just patch them in later
@Anonymous Jack III, either towards town or straight into GF’s pockets
@eleven, if they would announce that they were going to add the national dex sometime in the future via a patch/ free dlc, I guarantee that this whole controversy would calm down if not completely disappear (assuming they also polish up all the models/fix a couple animations)
@Toxia, Probably. And it definitely would have, even if they didn't polish up the "unique" battle animations. A lot of the more competitive players turn the animations off to save time anyways.
Good thing I have never played pokemon or have any interest in ever doing so
AHHHHHH SOMETHING SOMETHING SOMETHING ABOUT NOT ALL POKÉMON AND GAME FREAKS BEING LAZY
@Thone09, “National Dex, you say? How’s about you suck our National Dix?”
-Game Freak, probably
@Berntley, I am furious the national DeX was canned .....
