@Sambob, totally agree, i tried watching sao recently, but couldn't get past the 2nd episode before I realized I'd much rather watch the abridged because sao's story is just completely inadequate compared to abridged

@Vozzici, if recommend powering through the first half of season 1, then watching ggo (ONLY of you can watch it subbed, the dub is trash, very poorly translated imo) and then skip to mothers Rosario, easily the best arc. I was also lucky enough to catch the latest movie and it too is fantastic

@Sambob, I find it irks me when people say "the abridged version." Due to the nature of parody, anybody could make an abridged version of a show, but nothing makes one "the abridged version" over another.
