@TheMediocreHulk, what’s even more terrifying is how the majority of them are completely invisible. We can only detect black holes that are actively sucking in matter, or are distorting the light that should be coming in behind them.

After a not so brief read on gizmodo, the final rendering of gargantua is not quite that accurate as the more literal renderings wouldnt be as appealing to the viewer so idk where you got this info

@daweim0, I was thinking the same thing. What I think it could be is speculation from scientists on what black holes ~probably~ look like. I'm gonna look for this article. Will be back for update
@yadonegoofed, what I gathered: at the time of release, it was considered the most accurate depiction of a black hole. After the picture of the black hole five years later, it's still considered relatively accurate, but there some things that are correct and some that aren't
