I really want to play the Let's go games but it bothers me to no end that it uses Pokemon Go's catching. I cant wait for the mainline games coming to the switch though because those should be incredible
@Aaron Leibowitz, i though the same thing but once i started playing and remembering my childhood i didn't care i loved it.
@Aaron Leibowitz, also you can only either use mobile mode or a single joy con at a time, It annoys me because if it works on mobile mode then i should be able to use both joy cons together but Nintendo loves their gimmicks
@Aaron Leibowitz, Have you tried playing the let’s go games? I had the same concerns you do but the Pokémon go mechanic really isn’t too bad. I think the game is definitely worth it
@Aaron Leibowitz, Yeah, it’s actually not too bad, in that sense. Especially because you still get to fight trainer battles. Really, my problem was how tedious the battle system was. After a fight or a catch, it has to go through and tell you that all your Pokémon Gaines experience, and then if some of them leveled up, and so on. And if I recall correctly, it does this between each fight, like if someone has three Pokémon that you had to fight, every time you beat one, it’s “so and so gained this much experience! You other Pokémon gained experience, too! So and so grew to level 12! What’s his face grew to level 17!” You probably get the idea. Every fight. All separate text boxes. It got to be kinda grueling, especially when grinding.
@Aaron Leibowitz, I was like that at first and refused to buy it (I eventually caved), and once I started playing I found it oddly fun and relaxing. Especially if you have the pokeball
@Berntley, thats literally the smallest amount of text ever and its just updating you on where your pokemon are literally every single pokemon game in existence has done that its literally a non issue
@FFCrisisC, I haven’t played a Pokémon game since Red, so I couldn’t remember if it was that bad then. I’m not saying it makes them unplayable, by any means, but it got tedious after a while, and made it impossible to get a real flow going in the battles. Seemed like I spent more time flipping through text boxes than actually engaging in battle.
@Berntley, oh thats fair the tediousness of flipping through i totally get. I thought you were mad you had to read lmfao.
@FFCrisisC, If I got that upset about having to read some shît, I don’t know if I’d be able to get by in society in general. Although, given my compulsive need to read everything on the screen in most games, I do have to adjust with these kinds of games. Especially since they are all pretty indistinguishable from “This message is super fvcking important!” vs. “you’ve read this shît 87 times in the last six minutes”.
@Berntley, bruh i agree completely but ive seen too many reviews and comments complaining about how much a game makes them read. Ive seen kids give up on LoZ becauss its not voiced over and they have to read. Societies a bunch of donkuses.
@FFCrisisC, Yeah, I mean, you gotta know what you’re getting yourself into. Hell, I love the paper Mario games, and they’re designed specifically to make fun of games that are super wordy. Personally, I hope Zelda goes back to that way of things, at least a little bit. I really didn’t feel inclined to talk to hardly anyone on the game that didn’t have that red dot by their name. Used to be, I’d talk to every goddamned sentient creature in those games.
@Aaron Leibowitz, you don’t know how much I want another game in Orre
Attention to detail like this always makes me feel good
"Technology is incredible you can totally fùck robots now." Game grumps pokemon fire red episode 1 @ 5:02
Some guy on YouTube has an evolution video of that guy throughout the Pokémon games.
We started at the bottom and now we’re here
This makes me both happy and sad
Anybody remember those big grey gameboys before the game boy colour came out? And the magnifier that you could slide on the top? Oh jees I’m old
Technology is incredible.
I got about 4 gyms in and quite. It’s the only Pokémon game I never finished. I don’t like the Go mechanics at all. Like Arron said, I can’t wait for the mainline game that is supposedly coming this year.
Never got into these games, I really believe my life would be better with them in it, Stardew Valley is fun too
Boooo. Shameless cash grab. Booooo.
