Ones a madman, other is a jerk who could just as easily double all resources
@thejamesshow00, it's clear who the jerk is.....its the necrophiliac
@thejamesshow00, wouldn’t doubling the resources also double the size of the habitable planets? Seems like screwing with the gravitational balance of every solar system in the galaxy would be extremely detrimental to his ultimate goal.
@Lellow0079, is it necrophilia if the person he wanted was death herself?
@Aaron Leibowitz, I mean might be....it might fall into more of a gray area
@thejamesshow00, I could, I really could but
@thejamesshow00, well, to be fair, doubling the resources is fundamentally unsustainable because in a generation or two the problem will happen again. I think his reasoning was if he killed 50% of life then people would see that population controls were effective. Thereby making it more sustainable. Because if there was just poofed more resources then all the living people don't learn a lesson. At least that is what makes sense to me.
@Toxia, isn’t the universe ever expanding? Couldn’t he just make it go like, faster? And not fvck up the known solar systems?
@YourMomRidesMeGood, Speeding up the expansion of the universe doesn’t seem much better than screwing up the gravitational balance between planets, moons, and stars. Doing so would at the very least make travel from one planet to the other take longer, And therefore increase resource consumption (at least fuel consumption) and it does no good to double the resources if you’re also increasing the minimum amount of resources that get used in a given timeframe.
@Toxia, oh I must’ve misunderstood the ever expanding theory, I thought it meant that there are still planets forming outside the known universe.
@thejamesshow00, That would work just like inflation. Printing more money because there are too many poor people only makes the problem worse.
@YourMomRidesMeGood, yeah, the amount of stuff in the universe stays the same; it just gets further apart
@giggybiggy, that makes so much more sense.
@Toxia, he can rewrite the laws of physics, so no.
@thejamesshow00, also doubling resources would require constant attention and the population would explode, thus requiring him doube them very often
@Toxia, infinity gauntlet away the problem it’s capable of doing just about anything make everything double or possibly even triple the size and make gravity function how it would if the universe were still the same size and increase the space between worlds to whatever proportion they were before simple as that
@TenorTwoPointO, doesn’t really help much either way they’re both short term solutions to the problem
@eleven, I agree. I'm trying to find a way in which it makes sense. And concievably Thanos may think that the lessons learned by the universe will cause them to create their own long term solutions. I suppose in my hypothesis, Thanos is less trying to correct an issue and more trying to demonstrate that an issue exists with the hope that once people see it they will fix it.
@TenorTwoPointO, it's the same problem though. Less population has a crap ton of resources, population booms, in just a few short centuries, we're exactly where we left off
@Johnny Karate, it is the same problem assuming no behavioral changes. Which is kind of the point I was trying to make. Thanos may be wanting to create a change of behavior among the populations.
@TenorTwoPointO, oh I only read your first comment, didn't see the second one till just now
@Johnny Karate, haha fair enough.
Who would want to bang a skeleton?
*Watches Book of Life*
*Searches for Infinity Stones*
@SimonPetrikov, la Mureta....
Lady Death is taken, Thanos. She won't break up with her boyfriend just because you killed half the universe...
@ptitty1231, sorry Thanos. She's in love with Wade Wilson. You'll have to kill him, but then they'd both just be getting what they want. Wade can't be with her because he can't die. I mean, you could curse him to immortality, but you already did that didn't you?
They are both madmen. One on the right has crappy reasons for his destruction, the one on the left couldn't problem solve without murder if half the universe depended on it. Oh wait....
*a skeleton with TITS, thank you very much. A cultured gentleman has standards.
Thanos captured the feels stone
To be totally fair, they never in the movie said The Infinity Gauntlet was capable of anything. They only said whoever had it would be the most powerful being in the universe. So maybe in the movie Universe, it is only a weapon and incapable of creating resources
@Cruxio , or, maybe he just used that as an excuse to kill. Doesn't mean he didn't think of it, necessarily
I like both
