seriously, it is. mental health is no joke. please take care fo yourselves.
Yeah thats what my dad used to say anytime i told him i was having a hard time emotionally. Sad really :/ we get pushed around for not being man enough and if we arent queer we shouldnt have "feelings." My homosexual cousin gets more respect than me from my family cause they associate his feelings with his sexual orientation.
@Selrahc666, the obvious solution is to suck your cousin off
@Selrahc666, I have no idea why feelings are so decidedly feminine according to society. If you're human, you feel. Happy, sad, joy, pain, love, loss, anger, depression, hope... these are not emotions relegated only to women and men aren't weak for felling and expressing their feelings.
@iLikeBigBooks, it reminds me of Hank Hill, he always had a hard time telling Peggy he loved her. And Bobby had a much easier time expressing his feelings, and Hank would just say "that boy ain't right, I tell you hwhat."
@Selrahc666, have you tried manning the fvck up?
@BigJohnson86, no man im just gonna complain about it without actually trying to fix myself for the better. What do you think dumbass?
@Selrahc666, the only other advice I have is to stick your dick in it
@BigJohnson86, sure bend over red rover and let me cum over.
@Selrahc666, well I’d like to believe that if you ever needed anything, most of us on FP are hella chill and wouldn’t mind helping out :)
@N7 Trinity, ty man i appreciate your generosity.
@Selrahc666, forgot to mention that ppl who say to “man up” are idiots :)
@N7 Trinity, nail on the head bro. Some people have expressed understanding in these comments, some are trolls and some just here for the lols. FP is diverse i like you guys!
@Selrahc666, I’ve been on this app since I was a teen in 7th grade and now I’m 22 going to university. This app has always been one of my faves for the lols and the people
@Selrahc666, at least your dad was around. Joking aside, thats just a really bad father that is ignorant at the same time. Most old people do not change with time and end up passing their beliefs onto their kin which is why we still have racism and the mentality that a macho man is the only man. Glad you arent like that at least.
@Selrahc666, I’ve become the ultimate man by repressing so many feelings that I am literally unable to experience happiness or true emotion anymore. I just drift through life watching other people become successful and start families, then go home to stare into the void until I fall asleep.
If you’re hearing this from anyone in your life, regardless of thier relationship to you, cut them from your life immediately, ruthlessly, and without regret. It’s toxic, it’s disgusting, and it’s clear that someone who would tell you this doesn’t care about or have your best interests in mind in the slightest.
@liberachi , finally something reasonable outta ya lib.
@liberachi , Rule 3/ Make friends with people who want the best for you.
@Khjunky, literally never quote that fake doctor at me ever again
@liberachi , man up
@Khjunky, what's that from? If Liberachi doesn't like it, I probably will
@liberachi , why is this destructive ignorant nonsense getting upvotes.
@Pyvin, its Jordan Peterson's 12 rules for life. Hes a Canadian psychologist that promotes responsibility for ones self and liberals dont like him.
@Khjunky, Oh, I'm a big fan of his, but don't keep up with his stuff. I just think he's a good guy.
@liberachi , you realize hes has a doctorate degree, by definition making him a doctor?
@liberachi , “Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.” That sounds like it applies to you as well.
@Raki Zaki, wow, stupid, childish, and overwritten? All in a single sentence? Is it my birthday?
@liberachi , you’re just mad because he successfully stands up against irrational thinking.
@liberachi , ehhhh, I've always seen the "cut out of you life" approach to be weak. As if you're somehow incapable of taking their words. Plus, being told to man up honestly isn't the worst thing in the world; it's practically telling you to be better than you currently are. When a common cause of depression is an utter lack of self worth, sometimes people need a push towards self-improvement.
@liberachi , for once, I completely and without reservation agree with you
@TheStarHawk, “man up” is a dismissal. It’s what you say to someone being weak or cowardly to pressure them into no longer being weak or cowardly. Used towards someone struggling with depression, “man up” is akin to “no one cares about your problems, shut up.”
Apart from someone being unintentionally crappy or unempathic, someone who responds to a friend, colleague, or loved one expressing vulnerability with “man up” needs to be ditched like month old milk.
@TheStarHawk, you have clearly lived a privileged life.
@TheStarHawk, it's not that you cant take thier words it's that you shouldn't have to. It works similar to another nule of his that says "treat yourself like someone you are responsible for" if you had a kid, younger sibling, etc. Basically anyone you would be directly responsible for and you saw they had friends that treated them like crap and were pulling down on thier life even if the were unsuccessful. Would you be comfortable telling them to continue thier friendship with people that can only bring them down? If you wouldn't have them do it then you shouldn't do it yourself.
@I Are Lebo, i tell my 12yo daughtwr to man up....its more a saying to face your problems instead of running from them....regardless of how she handles the problem ahe NEEDS to handle it....avoiding it makes it worse....and ill add that she is very strong willed from it...she doesn't take shjt from abyone anymore...just as i would have it.
@MMSieBreeze, yeah, but by doing so you’re associating strength, both strength of will and strength of character, with masculinity. These types of lessons don’t exist in a vacuum. If strength is masculine, then by basic reason weakness is feminine.
@Implicit88, I’ve not have a privileged life and I agree with him. You’re just a jerk.
@Child Slapper, clearly you do not understand what i meant.
Trust me, kids, this is nothing new. As an 80s kid and a male, I was often told "crying is for girls! Quit crying, or are you a little girl?!"
Yeah, because a five year should scrape his knees and just shrug it off like it's no big deal. 😐
@Suicide Squad Sucks,
Me as a 5 yo scraping all four major scraping joints on freshly paved street just down the road from the transfer station (so dump trucks in and out all day everyday).
My mom getting the tub and Iodine brush ready.
@Suicide Squad Sucks, my 2yo scraped his knee and shrugged it off.....man up
“Another case of fragile masculinity” well of course it’s fragile, you’ve undermined it and beat it to a pulp.
Yall gotta man up
Try hearing this from feminists.
Looks like it works
Man up with Gold Bond
@A Deformed Penis, I love him but not that much XD. Hes also very pretty boy with tons of Instagram followers.
