John Verybest says hi
@naturagood, shoutout from Brad Likenooneeverwas
My last name is Powers, biatch.
@The Common Shaman, were I her and married you, I'd hyphenate: Best-Powers. That way I'd *know* I was a comic book character and that this was my origin story.
@The Common Shaman, if your sons name isn’t max I will never forgive you
@BigJohnson86, or Richard
@BigJohnson86, or Austin. But his name is Kai, unfortunately
@The Common Shaman, you’ve made an enemy for life. I’ve already chosen my children’s names. Harry for a boy and Anita for a girl.
@The Common Shaman, I knew a girl back in high school whose last name was Champion. If I married her, I'd take her last name
@The Common Shaman, HI Dave
I'd like to hear the reasoning behind men who won't take their wife's last name.
I remember reading an essay about this once... the woman said it was more fitting in the feminist ideal to keep her maiden name, but at the same time, she was just keeping her FATHER'S name, so she'd have to take her mother's maiden name, which meant she was taking her GRANDFATHER'S name, so she'd need to take her grandmother's maiden name...
Needless to say, the author proclaimed that taking your husband's name was no more ideal than keeping your own.
@Suicide Squad Sucks, except in theory she’d be breaking the cycle for her future generations of female offspring
My husband and I solved the "problem" by coming up with a new last name when we got married. Best desicion ever. We are the only two people in the world with this last name.
@7sideways, what is it??
@7sideways, I would also like to know.
@7sideways, Is it "Joestar"?
@7sideways, It's a Finnish last name, and no, I will not tell it since it would make googling me way too easy.
Yeah that’s a pretty good argument hell if anything your husband should take your last name
I think couples should use whichever name is easier to spell and pronounce.
Weed out the crazy names in a single generation without resorting to genocide... unless you’re into that sort of thing.
*glares at adolf*
Told my wife she didn't have to take my name as long as the kids do have to hyphenate their last name like losers
