Doctor’s handwriting isn’t usually that terrible, its just that they use shorthand Latin abbreviations that people won’t know if they aren’t medically trained. If you don’t know that “ii tab po bid prn” means “take two tablets by mouth twice a day as needed” then of course its going to look like sloppy gibberish.
