My guess is that JD power is an award you get for paying them the most money
@MetalHeadTony, Pretty much. They collect syndicated surveys that companies can pay to use to make their car look the best. And since there are so many differing surveys, they can find a bunch that they can win “awards” on.
@Arcsbane, yeah I know for a fact one of those many awards Chevy brags about is for windshield wipers, but they conveniently leave that little part of it out.
@MetalHeadTony, sort of. Companies pay JD Power to survey their customers, but the parameters are a little wacky and it's really easy to earn most of the awards. Essentially, if a company isn't selling cars that break down the literal second they roll off the lot, they can win some of the awards.
@MetalHeadTony, mmm, yes. cynical. bitchy. sadly true. i love it. let's be friends.
@sonofafishtaco, I’m tony I like metal music and South Park. Nice to meet you.
@MetalHeadTony, Randy Marsh is my fûcking role model!
@MetalHeadTony, one of the big ones Chevy likes to brag about is that a bunch of their cars have awards for highest initial quality. Literally JD Power surveys people who bought their cars within the last 90 days and asks them if they've had any problems. It mainly just nets cars that have some manufacturing issues or like weird controls. But Chevy advertises it like it means their cars are the only ones that don't break down.
This is why I love those Zebra corner videos making fun of these stupid commercials
@Good Guy Satan, "mahk"
@Good Guy Satan, "JD Powah"
@Good Guy Satan, who needs a Chevy when you got a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara
“Real” people. Suspicious quotes
I honestly loved my equinox and my traverse is pretty great. 100k miles of beating on my equinox and towing my dunebuggies all over the place and no troubles whatsoever.
@ThePandaPool , yea well GM vehicles are great up until around that point. Long term reliability after 100k miles is super questionable, and this comes from a current and previous owner of probably 5 GM vehicles. And I treat my cars very well.
@SWAT the fireman, that’s probably about right. Aside from all the recalls my car had before the 100k mark. My car started having a small oil leak and a coolant leak after about 100,000 miles. But they are nothing serious that have caused an issue yet.
Was expecting to see a line below the meme. Where it said reality... then show the people annoyed after having to take their vehicled the dealer again to have something fixed after the several recalls.
Bought my Cruze used with low milage but I had like four recalls in the first year and a half I had it. Not including The a valve would let more air in then it should causing it to run rough anytime the season would change from summer to winter and back. The first two years.
Other than that it’s been a good car.
If you wanna see a guy that hates Chevy and makes parody of their commercials, Zebra Corner is the youtuber for you.
