There was a test that was never aired where they were testing to see if a cereal box was more nutritious than the cereal (or something like that. They brought three mice in. A control group, one being fed cereal, and one being fed the box. When they returned, they found the box mouse had eaten the other two. So naturally it was never put on TV
@Pachirisu, I know exactly what to do with this information
@Sexy Homunculus, ………eat cereal boxes???
@Pachirisu, that's so fvcking metal
And Adam and Jamie didn't actually get along too well, but they held it together for the show, because that's what heros do.
@The Freaking FBI, And even though they didn't really get along, they had respect for each other and knew their opinions and solutions would be different.
I remember watching one episode where they shoot various firearms into a public swimming pool to test the viability of underwater escape. That episode was the most American bit of television I have ever seen.
Shooting a grenade defied all of Adams predictions
hmm, how do i rewatch this show.
@Z0IDBERG, Discovery +, which may be part of Paramount Plus
Science = getting married. You’re wrong, but apparently you’re happy about it.
R.I.P to Grant Imahara
It doesn't matter who's right.
It matters what's right.
And this is what's so wrong with the "trust the science" crowd. Science is meant to be challenged, and scientists shouldn't be afraid to admit they're wrong.
@Captain Swordsman, what is a "trust the science" crowd?
@Emp4th, the people who tell everyone to blindly trust what scientists say despite blind trust being antithetical to science itself.
@Captain Swordsman, I'd rather blindly follow the words of a scientist than that of some guy with a talkshow and an opinion. Also bear in mind that what scientists say and what the media say scientists say are wholly different things, generally speaking.
@Captain Swordsman, *sniff sniff* do I smell an anti-vaxxer?
@dshira, well I've gotten meningitis and tetenus vaccines so, by your standards, probably.
@Captain Swordsman, how about covid?
If only scientists were all this way, instead of digging in on their theories even when they are being proven wrong.
Adam Savage has a great YouTube channel and podcast called Tested/Still Untitled, respectively
Miss that show a lot
