So glad I escaped my household with my dad, Stepmom and two brothers in it, and am now at my mom's with my four birbs. My dad has a control complex, and now that the virus/government has taken his control away, he's going nuts. Even more yelling and screaming and stricter rules than before. I pity my little brothers. Y'all, stay safe at home, don't let the stress get to you. Don't lash out at loved ones. In these times, you have to take a step back, breathe, and not let the stress come over you. It's living hell for some people at home right now.
@A pet named Steve, holy hell. I'm so sorry. I hope your brothers are safe.
@Desiderata, as someone who had a pretty calm life growing up with non overbearing parents, it's difficult for me to remember sometimes that not everyone is so lucky, glad you got out of that situation for now at least, and I hope your brothers are okay. and you keep those birbs safe (I don't think animals can get infected but still)
@Desiderata, I just realized I hit reply on the wrong person
@Desiderata, yeah, he doesn't (or, well, very rarely) gets physical with his violence. But psychological abuse ain't much better. I've built up a wall by now, but my bros have to endure it for now. He's not always like that, but these times are stressful...
Thank you for your kind words. Stay healthy my friend!
@Swagnamite, thank you! I'll call m bros Tomorrow to check with em, but I'm sure they're fine for now. And yes, I keep them birbs safe. They are four shining (and very loud) beacons in this whole virus situation.
@A pet named Steve, that's good, just be an encouragement to them if nothing else, I'm sure it will mean a lot in these times. what kind birbs are they? my best friend had a green cheek conure, he was super loud and he would act all nice and friendly, cuddling up on your shoulder, rubbing his face against your cheek, and as soon as he had you lured into a false sense of security, he would either bite your ear really hard or scream directly into your ear, and if you were extra lucky, you got both at once.
@Swagnamite, yeah. I'm not always the best sis, I get annoyed easily with them, but I'll help em out if they need it, and now they do.
Ah, birb bites. And screams. Yes, they hurt a lot haha! I have four budgies. All with their own personalities. One (Seán) likes cuddles and never, ever bites. They're all angels.
@A pet named Steve, siblings don't always get along, the important thing is that you're there for them when it matters.
oh nice, I liked when my friend had some budgies, they were a lot more calm than the conure.
@A pet named Steve, cool of you to share that, get what you go throw sometimes. Hope your brothers grow up fast so they can get out as well.
@Swagnamite, I try my best to be there when they need me ^^
yeah, conures can be vicious haha! But all birbs are good birbs at the end of the day.
@A pet named Steve, Glad you're out of that situation. This is hard enough as it is.
@A pet named Steve, I am really happy you’re out of that household. I hope this is a more permanent situation and not just for the duration of the viral pandemic, but even if it is, small victories and I’m glad you’re at least cherishing this one somewhat my dear
I was actually watching the shining with my friend, and midway through I said how Johnny reminds me of my dad. My friend just looked at me and said "I didn't want to say anything, but I thought the same thing". Well, he doesn't exactly chase us around the house with an axe, but his behaviour can be really similar. Scary stuff.
@A pet named Steve, Steve come clean, has your father threaten you and the entire family due to writers block???
@megamanx181x, lmao not yet at least
@A pet named Steve, phew ok but the second he hints it you run
@megamanx181x, no tv and no beer make homer something something
@Not him again, go crazy...?
@megamanx181x, DON'T MIND IF I DO!
My husband and his mom are the ones staying home together while I work. She broke his fancy espresso cup and tried to hide it. They are not talking to each other.
@mayora13, that's how it begins
Don’t you know that’s death’s ringtone
