How many slaves when they get their names called recieve tens of millions of dollars?
@jmacs94, the most entitled kind apparently
@jmacs94, at least 32 of them
@jmacs94, depends on how you think about it. We did use slaves for violent games and they were treated better or rewarded after which is better than not getting anything if you were a good fighter. Typically the less safe physically violent jobs require a certain class of people which is largely low income or lower class causing them to go after an opportunity others wouldn't want because of the harm related to it but to them it's worth it to elevate your status. Football is pretty violent and is composed almost exclusively by lower income or lower class people. There have been numerous studies that have show a white flight from it as well as an overall reduction in attendance and players due to the violence and potential injury. I'm not saying they are slaves but you can draw some significant parallels considering slaves were the lowest class in the past
@Cousteau, 99% of ppl on the planet before like 1800s died young from malnutrition/disease, and if your lucky to survive past 20, it's a life of brutal work to eat day by day. Ppl tend to forget that when they think of inequality of the past, there we're slaves allover the world for as long as humans roamed the earth as well
@RomeoStealYoGurl, i know people had it worse than now and slaves existed globally but that was not at all the point I was making. I'm not calling them slaves. im not calling anyone out I just think their are some interesting things to consider. Reread what I said. It basically equates to people in bad situations take more risks for unlikely gain. A lot of that mentality was related to slavery and how you broke them. It's really well documented. I'm just stating that there are some parallels.
@Cousteau, dont you think your reaching a bit?
If you say "no racist" like you do "no homo" its not racist.
@KillerdoomSky, Immunity 100
@KillerdoomSky, Really? Well it looks like my vocabulary just increased by one word.
Young men of multiple races getting dream job they've worked towards for years. Getting recognition on incredible stage for the world to see.
That’s not what that means and you know it, Annie. You’re either trolling or are simply delusional if that’s the conclusion you draw from a stage celebrating athletes landing the job of a lifetime.
Haha. That's funny, Annie.
A blue checkmark being super racist what a surprise.
Comparing professional athletes who make millions of dollars to slaves is an insult to all who actually were/are slaves. If you want to fight injustice how about fight to free all of the current slaves in the world right now. There are more slaves today than all the years of the European slave trade combined. Visit OURrescue.org and become an abolitionist.
