Batman broke free
Call me dumb or something, but why is it that in comics, random words are always in bold?
@Siska the Khajiit, usually to imply the word is being emphasized. So when reading in your head, you should stress that word a bit more. Also used for people who just skim the words, it can sometimes help you get a general feel for whats happening rather than fully reading the whole thing.
@SilentPlatypus, just I find that sometimes words that are being emphasized seem slightly out of place, but maybe I’m wrong
@Siska the Khajiit, I could be totally wrong and its just a random thing the comic artist does for an unknown reason. I just know a lot of the time thats the case.
@Siska the Khajiit, i am fairly new to them but i have a marvel subscription and noticed this right away. It didn't even make sense for emphasis most the time. I got used to just ignoring it and everything flowed better
@Siska the Khajiit, I agree. I have a hard time reading comics because the bold emphasis makes the sentences sound ridiculous.
@Siska the Khajiit, I believe it's because of how comics used to be made, the paper and printing process of the comics would warp the font. I believe it's still in modern comics to keep a bit of vintage feel.
@Siska the Khajiit, if you read only the bold words through out a comic it because a message from satan.
@Siska the Khajiit, I wonder if it's to do with spacing within the speech bubble? Like making some words thicker or thinner to occupy more or less space so that the text is even

If you think it’s sexist to treat a woman the same way you’d treat a man, you’re a fücking moron.
Our modern world may seem strange to you, Diana, but at least in most nations of the world, women can own property, hold jobs on their own, and participate in the governmental process just as men can. While as I understand it, in most ancient Greek poleis, which your people's culture and architecture are based on, women were amongst the lowest of all social classes and second to men in every aspect of society.
