@WickedStyx, First thing I thought of that wasn't there.
Gimp! Such an underrated program.
@Animalium, is incredibly powerful, but also incredibly complicated imo... Paint.Net is just so much easier...
@sheishkabob, I taught myself how to use gimp years ago, I love it
@sheishkabob, I’ve been using GIMP for almost ten years now and I’m still learning
Avast free antivirus for when you go carousing around those bootylicious websites.
@Peters Pickle, *dong dong dong*
Avast! A threat has been detected!
@Peters Pickle, my recommendation as a tech is not to use Avast! but to use the free version of Malwarebytes. The only thing I don't like about it as much is it attempts to turn off windows defender. But just turn it back on when you install it. Hope I helped someone, because fvck those damn scammers
@Peters Pickle, I most prefer Common Sense v7.0. If it looks scammy, don't click it! They want you to run a script? Don't run it! There's hot singles in my area? Maybe it will work this time...
@Youtuber, Malewarebytes is phenomenal, but I use Avast as my main and that in conjunction as I believe it's best to never rely on one thing in security. My favorite though for a quick check is hitmanpro. If you want to be really secure in your browser though try running Firefox with the noscript add on. What that does is block everything on a website from running unless you permanently or temporarily allow the various parts of it.
@Peters Pickle, really? I may have a look at that, sounds interesting! Also, out of curiosity, why Avast specifically?
@Youtuber, I just like Avast because it's free and has been the most reliable for me. For the average user I always recommend it over any of those paid garbage antivirus softwares. Best overall protection. malewarebytes can find things Avast can't but there are also things Avast can find or prevent that malwarebytes can't. Each one looks for different things so best would be to have both running real time protections but that can big down resources. So I usually just stick with avast and do full scans with malewarebytes every once and a while if I suspect an issue. With noscript running on Firefox though and a little common sense I haven't had a threat of any kind on my desktop or laptop in the past 5 years.
@Peters Pickle, pr0n sites are usually more protected than most other forms of websites. I remember seeing a study on this somewhere, but they tested major pr0n sites servers and other websites, and pr0n came out near the top with nearly the least amount of viruses or malicious malware programs
Wrong. I would never install VLC. Media Player Classic Home Cinema ftw!
@Saurutobi, learned something new today
@Saurutobi, been using that badboy since klite codec pack was mandatory. vlc is a piggy
Don't forget my utorrent
@mazemarble, and your VPN, right?
@devalation, If I torrented anything that anybody cared about, but I don't.
@mazemarble, enjoy your Bitcoin mining client
As a musician, add audacity to the list
I usually uninstall all the unnecessary crap first
@RiffRaff, I just do a clean install of Windows using their Media Creation Tool. You get a stock build of Windows that way
@SMASHING, thank you sir. I will use this knowledge in the future.
Sounds about right
@TheKen42, except for steam. Use to play American truck simulator and euro truck simulator. But now have a ps4 so the PC is rarely used now except for por...... I mean looking up my lotto results phew that was close. Nearly gave it away for using porn. Crap did I say that out aloud
@TheMasterBaiter, you didn't say any of that out loud
VLC media player usually came with the viruses. It liked to randomly download and install itself with the porn I downloaded.
7zip. It doesn't ask you for money.
The good ole' t3h p0rnz
Steam, battle.net, LoL, fortnite... I guess
What about GeForce experience?
I was just installing one of these, I need to step up my game
Wow, I'm officially old. What's the name of the one that's an alternative to paint.net?
Chrome and 7zip
MPC is way better than VLC though
Izarc is vastly superior to Winrar or 7zip
i prefer firealpaca to gimp. much easier to use and a lot better quality
VLC or CCCP is all I have to add
