Alright, that teacher is pretty cool for this, like he could have just went on with his grading, but he wanted to be sure no one was going to die on his watch
@Sivls, cool yes, but does this count as laid back?
We know nothing about classroom policy, workload, or demeanor. All we know is he takes the potential allergies of the students seriously. Which is not really a laid back thing.
@Majesticmoose00, the fact that he titled the email "trail mix attack" and described it as a catastrophe and is even grading papers while munching on something casual like that paints the picture of someone who at the very least can be lighthearted and also doesnt wanna get sued for accidentally almost killing a student
@Sivls, meh its a lot of paperwork if you kill a student. Probably though an email would be easier
That's actually a pretty cool professor
I legitimately would nominate him for teacher of the year, he actually gives a damn about his students.
I had one professor who had an 8am class (vertebrates) and he would insist we keep all lights off, with his overhead projector, tell us not to take notes. Very monotone voice generally boring, but one day the lights started flickering, and he just... Froze there for about 3 seconds and was like "Woah... Brings be back to my acid days". Most memorable moment in that class.
One of my professors spent the entire semester making us believe that he eats chalk, by pulling chalk out of a bag and snacking on it during lectures, and even giving us questions to work on that were about him eating chalk. At the very end of the semester he showed us a video of him at a candy store and revealed that it was candy shaped like chalk the entire time.. He even brought a bag of it for the class.
