Yeah, some people think they’re living in 3037 with this gender crap, but they’re actually just living in Tumblr
@pirey As a black-identifying Asian, male-identifying female transman, genderfluid polyromantic demisexual, I demand you apologize for your insensitivity, and refer to me by the proper pronoun of ey.
@deluvas, eyyy lmao
@pirey, literally have any of you ever met an actual real life trans person, and realize how fvcking stupid you sound?
@Fight Club, yes
@Fight Club, wait no
@Fight Club, I'm confused
@Fight Club, I've met trans people, and they think this sh1ts pretty stupid, I doubt most of them want to bother others with forced pronouns. Tho people from Tumblr think they speak for all of them, and sadly the loudest on media.
@jesvi, there are definitely weird extremists on tumblr, but makig fun of the whole population for a few of them is just plain disrespectful. I'm not sure what you mean by forced pronouns, but wanting to be called by a preffered pronoun is like the main thing that all the trans people i know care about. that and not calling them by tjeir deadname that they choose to not go by anymore.
@Fight Club, sorry, I mean forced pronoun by Bill c16 in canada, it's lawnow, and just shows the extremists have a voice, not the 30 or so trans people who came around to protest it to not go thru
@Fight Club, I'm forced to minimize any interaction with trans people, or anyone wanting a preferred pronoun, or if there recording me, and I don't use it, I'm gonna get fined
@jesvi, so use their preferred pronouns? depending on how you were raised, it may be hard for many people to get used to, but if you untrain yourself from associating the language with appearances it's easy. I looked up bill c16 as well, it literally just prevents unlawful discriminstion, what could possibly be the issue with that?
@jesvi, "The bill is intended to protect individuals from discrimination within the sphere of federal jurisdiction and from being the targets of hate propaganda, as a consequence of their gender identity or their gender expression. The bill adds "gender identity or expression" to the list of prohibited grounds of discrimination in the Canadian Human Rights Act and the list of characteristics of identifiable groups protected from hate propaganda in the Criminal Code. It also adds that evidence that an offence was motivated by bias, prejudice or hate based on a person's gender identity or expression constitutes an aggravating circumstance for a court to consider when imposing a criminal sentence." I find it hard to believe any trans people would not want this. sorry for trying to prevent people from being murdered?
@Fight Club, that you get fined for not using forced specific language that someone else tells you to? No other law in the US or Canada, except for when you have to declare your loyalty to the queen when u get citizenship in Canada, that you have compelled speech. This isn't just were someone beats someone up or bullying someone for being trans. This is forced speech.
@Fight Club, murder is allready illegal lol
@Fight Club, only thing I bring going up is the compelled speech. Have that gone. I don't care about a law of not hiring someone based on the gender identity or whatever, that's fine.
@jesvi, as far as the murder thing, ypu know thats not all i meant. hate crimes and hate motivated discrimination are still a thing, and even if some of those things are already illegal, it still helps to categorize them.
And I really don't consider it forced speech, it's basic respect. If you meet someone and call them by the wrong pronouns constantly, regardless of their identity, it's rude. If you willfully ignore their wishes, you're disregarding their rights. Now, I do tend to agree that there shouldn't be any criminal punishment for using the wrong pronouns, even if i do consider it incredibly disrespectful.
@Fight Club, respect isn't given, it's earned. It's meaningless otherwise, it's even more meaningless when legalized to do it. It's like making it illegal to not say thanks and your welcome, another compelled speech law, and making the argument ur making. People shouldn't be forced to be good people, just punish the bad people. 'Bad' opinions, like someone disagreeing with pronouns, doesn't make them bad people. Keep speech free, so we can have our own moral compass of right from wrong, not told by a small group in the government or activists. Idk, that's just me man.
@Fight Club, we sound stupid compared to a tranny?
@Fight Club, I prefer to be called a proud straight, white male. If you don’t call me this, I’m offended
@Fight Club, reeeeeeeeee!
@pirey, I identify as a millionaire but my bank manager keeps oppressing me with a sh!t bank balance.
Where is it still the 1950s? I’d love to go there on vacation, to see intact families and people with fashion sense that know what gender they are.
@Toad, and a booming economy
I know, people still think they can oppress minorities!
Can't believe the Democratic Party would do that.
@ToddHowardsParents, inner city living is a bitch when they keep you that way
@ToddHowardsParents, *shots fired into minorities*
Democratic party: "why would republicans do that"
@MMSieBreeze, Democrats use capitalism and corporate greed to oppress minorities behind closed doors. Republicans just do it outright. I’m not sure which is worse.
Wait till you get to Africa it 1400 years behind.
Yep, Democrats still believe black are an inferior race.
@TomxServo, I thought I was the only one who saw this. Good, good job my friend
If by “some parts of the US” they mean the heads of sjws, then yes.
Yeah, but the roles are reversed. With these diversity pushes and affirmative action and what not minorities actually have an advantage in opportunity, rather than simple equality of opportunity.
Stupid Brits. It's 7:50pm not 195.....oh I get it.
