Is that Netflix Starfire?
@SurgeonSean, you mean from that one awful teen titans reboot DC announced when they were trying to push their now defunct streaming service?
@Your Waifu, hate to say it but it’s still going on HBO max with the third season. Here’s a kicker though with starfires look: they got her a way better costume but now they inverted her hair away from red in general and they still aren’t bothering to get her skin tone right.
@megamanx181x, so she still looks nothing like Starfire is what you're saying.
@Your Waifu, sigh pretty much, also they are introducing her sister blackfire with the same design. I really hate how fanatics will defend the show just so they can have something to watch but don’t hold WB up to production standards to have the looks right. If marvel can get Zoe Zaldana to look green for her playing Gamora then there’s no excuse WB can’t get starfire to look Orange.
@megamanx181x, (ahem) feels like I made a post about this a few years back, ID 371469 got quite a few downvotes...
Well, who's laughing NOW?!
Me, because I watched the Harley Quinn animated series, and it's damn hilarious.
@Suicide Squad Sucks, amazing the damn animation studio can churn out better movies and shows then the live actions...
@megamanx181x, that's because the animations have directors who care about respecting the source material and are usually big comic fans, while the live action stuff is usually directed by well-known but not necessarily good directors who have probably never read a comic in their life, which is usually done only so they can say "from the director that brought you *insert popular show or movie*".
@Your Waifu, so true sigh Snyder doesn’t know jack and he’s obsessed with the dark nature of the watchmen for an influence on everything else
@megamanx181x, the funny thing about that as well is that the Watchmen movie is itself one of those movies directed by someone who didn't understand the comics, because the movie is actually thematically antithetical to the comics and misses the point so hard that the writer of the comics actually despises the movie.
@Your Waifu, oh yea that was the comic that made Alan Moore quit in general. That and the killing joke drove him to hate that the industry wanting to do dark themes as he himself still believed in heroes being a positive force
@megamanx181x, I think it was also because the dark themes were being used in a way he didn't approve of, and because a lot of things seemed to be taking more inspiration from the Watchmen movie then the actual comics, and so they constantly made the "heroes" be dark and gritty and have them do morally questionable things as a result, to the point that many were barely heroes at all.
@Your Waifu, it can be better accepted if there was some kind of build up in story to justify it. In Snyder’s mind he doesn’t have this capability to tell a long story as to why the characters are that way. He prefers to make them gritty and dark cause it’s more interesting to him this way. After that awful movie he originally made “sucker punch” he did an interview asking about making a DC movie and of course he said Batman. However he found Bruce Wayne’s origin of a being an orphan by murdered parents wasn’t enough motivation. He would want Bruce ending up in prison and being raped as enough rage motivation. Sigh this guy
“Fvck McDonalds, welcome to Wendys.”
I mean with that attitude I don’t think I want anything
