“I wrote a blog post recently detailing how I generalize things and wish to blame others for my flawed view on society”
@The Xenocide, if only it appealed to the female fantasy exclusively... but would that be progressive enough??
She seems like such a vicious cvnt. What is her reason for her saying that?
@Mantis Tobaggan, a mix of feminism and watching Anita Sarkesian
@Mantis Tobaggan, yeah, I'm no gynecologist, but I know a cvnt when I see one...
@Mantis Tobaggan, the game was GTA, so she's not wrong.
@Mantis Tobaggan, because this is 2020 and men aren’t aloud to like things
@Natural Sarcasm , except this clip is from like 2-3 years ago
@hollow114, is that the male fantasy? As a male myself, I'd much rather fantasize being in something like the Witcher or assassins creed
@Mantis Tobaggan, she was on some youtube channel that had non-gamer women try popular games. Most were either just bored or had a little fun, but she (as far as I remember) was the only one who went full SJW
@theshadosnipe, you’re absolutely right, feminists have changed so much in 2-3 years they used to be so understanding and definitely not man hating for the sake of man hating
@theshadosnipe, not GTA at least not for me or you. But Witcher is actually an amazing example of male fantasy. Though in each installment the developers matured. And the TV show is actually pretty woman fantasy. I'm excited for 2077.
@Natural Sarcasm , thats my point. 2020 sucks enough already that we don't need to attribute things that are like a decade old to it as well
@hollow114, I'm not holding my breath. New releases lately have been lack luster. If it's good I'll get it but I just get the feeling it'll be another overly-hyped game that falls flat
@Mantis Tobaggan, see the first part of your statement.
She's not wrong about this clip. As a male, this is my fantasy.
@Sharts Galore , I know right? It’s just weird that she hates it.
I kind of want to know the actual context behind her saying this. I mean she's wrong anyway, but I m just curious what triggered her
@Patamon, dude how is she wrong. Lol. The Witcher series is like the paramount of male fantasy. awesome game for sure. but the first one literally had a little black book to fill up with women you slept with.
@Patamon, it was a buzzfeed video were feminist women play gta 5. She gets mad because of going into the strip club and getting lap dances. You can't find the original video anymore because buzzfeed privatize the video.
@hollow114, she’s wrong because she generalizes all video games as male fantasy. There are plenty of open ended character creator driven stories where you decide everything. There are plenty of story driven games that are heart wrenching. You can’t honestly believe that the opening sequence to the last of us is appealing to the male fantasy
@Natural Sarcasm , as someone in marketing that's not her fault. This is also from 2015. But the video game industry is only now realizing that women play video games more than men. But it's taken a long time. Because it's taken this long for games like last of us. Or a Laura Croft game without Tig ol biddies. And I still see major hate for last of us 2 from neckbeards. Gatekeeping is real.
@hollow114, well as far as the last of us 2, they would have had better success if they implemented their ideas (which weren’t bad) in a new game. Doing that with established characters and having you play from the observable “bad guy” doesn’t work when people want the characters they love to be the main focus.
At any rate this girl being surprised by gta (a game well known for this content) is about as relatable as going to pornhub and being shocked by the nudity
@Natural Sarcasm , she also didn't play those games. She was given gta 5 to play. Buzzfeed could have just as easily given her something far more enjoyable for women to play. They just wanted clickbaits
@theshadosnipe, well we can agree there. They could have given her the sims to play, popular for everyone
@hollow114, ok, as someone who's never played last of us, what's all the hate towards the sequel about? I haven't seen this much animosity towards a sequel since Mass Effect Andromeda
@Natural Sarcasm , or any of a variety of single player games. My gf is a pretty big gamer and loves games like Sims, Soma, Ori and the Blind Forest, Alien Isolation, ect. Dozens, maybe hundreds of better options for them to give her
@hollow114, kind of feel like it's not true that women play video games more than men, is there a source to that claim? From everything I've heard Abe experienced it's always been that men play videogames more than women
@hollow114, I'm curious what you mean by "women play more games than men"? If you include mobile games then I could see that but overall gaming has been a very male dominated space since a lot of the games are very violence focused, with the industry expanding im sure more and more women are finding a place but more than men..I highly doubt that. Especially since most PC/Console gamers don't really consider mobile gamers to be in the same boat of gaming.
The last of us 2 however sh1t on it's fanbase by murdering the character everyone loves in probably the worst way possible by a character they then force you to play and try and get you to sympathize with. Then they don't even give you the payoff of at least getting revenge at the end. Its basically how to piss off the player 101.
@Patamon, she played a little bit of GTAV and flipped out. Apparently, paying fictional hookers with fictional money is soooo bad
@hollow114, ooooo.... sad day.
If you consider video games to include mobile games, sure, more women play video games than men, but that’s disingenuous at best.
If you find video games that are popular unappealing, that’s a ‘you’ problem, not an industry problem. TLOU2 is a mediocre game at best and intentionally insulting at worst. I think it falls somewhere between those and closer to insulting than not.
I agree gatekeeping is real, but it is the woke psychopaths that engage in gatekeeping. Besides, how can a basement dwelling neckbeard gatekeep anything? Where is their social power to control video games? They don’t interact with the public!
You can keep banging on about these imaginary slights, I’m certain you’re going to find Cyberpunk 2077 triggering, but game sales will be the ultimate arbiter of what survives and what fails.
There’s a reason folks say, “get woke, go broke”.
@theshadosnipe, super long explanation needed. Go check out the Critical Drinker “How to be an Awesome Game Developer” on YouTube.
@Natural Sarcasm , wait. You mean you cans see naked people on the internet? For realz?
@theshadosnipe, long story short, they tried to have the player play both sides of this conflict which in theory is a good idea and has a lot of potential. However it only works on a new storyline with all new characters.
Instead they implemented this with established characters (the ones everyone wanted to play) and a character that killed a fan favorite character. Forcing you to play as the killer for large portions of the game.
The idea of showing that everyone is the hero in their own story is s a solid concept. It was just poorly executed
The Witcher is objectified and that hunk that plays him is objectified. So it goes both ways. God of war, shirtless muscle hunk.
Dante series all the guys are hot, last of us - sexy male hero
Males in video games are equally as objectified.
I gotta start playing MHW again because it looks like I’ve missed out on some interesting stuff.
@RedBronto, what game is this?
@BlueFlameAlchemist, it’s Monster Hunter: World
She needs to get laid good then she would stop complaining.
@Cuactemoc4919, you’re probably right. Though it’s weird when people find reality offensive.
Even if it does why is tht bad.
Oh fůck 50 shades of grey it appeals to the female fantasy
@jerriest jerry , because racism....?
"This product appeals to 50% of its potential customer base and I hate that"
Is that joecat in the background ?
*shows her Torbjorn and Roadhog from overwatch, then shows her Torbjorn's first person view if Roadhog in gameplay*
Are the Witcher books worth a read?
@Yo Dad, yes, they’re good, some more than others, there’s a lot of them and some are just short story collections. Some are full novels. I recommend looking at the reviews as to which would interest you the most and start with what appeals most.
