The US higher education system is a complete racket. There’s no reason for it to be such a massive financial burden to attend even the local community college. In my opinion, the current cost of acquiring a college degree isn’t worth the benefit of having one.
@NotFlat, all of our major systems are pretty fvcked. Tell me how building credit isn't a scam.
@NotFlat, and that’s why you just join the Army and have the government pay for for your college
@NotFlat, this is even worse because the US public education system is underfunded and often uses outdated equipment, textbooks, and information, while wildly unerpaying teachers, who should be payed much more given that they're a fundamental part of our society. So most high school graduates will lack q proper full education because of public school's shortcomings, but won't be able to afford to get higher education, and the people who do get higher education are often worse off for it because of the flaws in that system.
@NotFlat, while I do agree that for some (maybe even a lot of) people the cost outweighs the benefits I know for me personally it was necessary since I'm planning on teaching English in Japan later this year or early next year, and having a bachelor's degree is required to teach in Japan.
@ThePandaPool , building good credit helped me waive many fees when it came to getting an apartment, buying my house and getting discounts on my utilities.
@Dknessfalls, but meanwhile, how much money does it cost someone to build and maintain credit? It worked out for you, but people are making money hand over fist off of it.
I honestly felt bitter finishing college, the amount of times they increased the tuition and the quality of the education was mediocre. I drove to class to have professors who gave zero fvcks about teaching and just read the examples out of the book. Even then there was no job waiting for me and even though I already had work experience as a technician you still have to find someone wanting to give you a Chance
The more I learn about the american educational system, the more it saddens me.
