People park like this because most people are a-holes who don’t mind hitting your car when they open their car door to get in/out.
@ChineseTakeout, I have plenty of new dents on my truck from people like that. Especially annoying when I go out of my way to leave an open space between me and any other car
@Richard Cypher, end of the lot is the only way
@megamanx181x, end of the car park and against the kerb, always for me. It doesn’t always work. I did it once in an empty car park and I returned to find some ässhole with two wheels in my space. So as he did that on purpose I removed his mirror on purpose to make getting in my car easier.
I’m not naturally nasty until someone really pushes my buttons.
@stercus stercus, completely justifiable
@ChineseTakeout, in the UK, car park car damage is Very common and people are rarely honest, so you see a lot of people with expensive cars straddling the parking spaces and buying two tickets...
@ChineseTakeout, the way I see it if you do this way in the back of a parking lot that isn't full you're good.
@ChineseTakeout, I don’t mind if people park like this as long as they inconvenience themselves by parking in the back (or at least far away from everyone else) but if you park in the front spots like this. You’re the asshole.
It’s nighttime in a pretty empty parking lot. I tend to not care about my parking in those conditions
@Richard Cypher, ....but 4 spots is still a little rough.
@Dolorous Fvcking Edd, People tend to be cautious when they get new cars. Especially one's that cost a pretty penny. Thats why they tend to park towards the back and sometimes take more than 1 spot. It's to avoid morons who don't watch how they open their door.
Edit: I have an older car so I don't care, but I know as soon as I get my new car I'm going to be parking in the back until some idiot dents it. Then it's whatever.
@Dolorous Fvcking Edd, that super duty is 65k average. That's a shït load more than I'd ever pay for a vehicle. I don't blame him for not wanting dents or scratches.
I have a 98 ranger and every time I look at it there's a new scratch or dent. People are trash and you gotta try and protect your ride.
@Dolorous Fvcking Edd, if they’re parking way out back in the lot where no one does it’s not a issue. When they take the first four non handicap spots then it’s a hole parking.
I just got an STi a few weeks ago and between the cost of the car and all the parts and labor in aftermarket “stuff”, there’s about $100,000 wrapped up in this car. You best believe I park way in the back away from everyone. Still people manage to go out their way to park next to me out the middle of nowhere. Really annoying. I don’t ever take up more than one space though.
@IronBelly, I bought a 2017 mustang last year which was appraised at $110,000, I park underground but the people in the parking stall that park to my left have children who open their doors at full speed to full lock. Got the parents to pay for the damage. Parked my truck beside them so now their doors hit the running boards, not my car. Parked the car where the truck used to be cause I have two spots.
So in california if you get into an accident and the other person flees without you getting their plate or VIN number your insurance wont cover it.
@GunLovingMerican, that’s not true. You have to have the right coverage for it tho. Uninsured motorist protects you from hit n run.
@big freedom, it is true. My neighbor had that and they still wont cover it. I heard the woman talking on the phone they require a vin or lisence plate along with unisured motorist insurance
@GunLovingMerican, I was hit and run. My insurance paid without a fuss. Your neighbor better fight it. The ins co is trying to screw her over.
@big freedom, he is. they claim its california state law now you have to get a VIN or lisence plate. Even the manager said the same thing.
@big freedom, also i hope nobody got hurt when you were hit.
@GunLovingMerican, those fûckers. How TF is someone supposed to be that aware when they just got smashed.
Nobody hurt in my case. Just backed into the side of my car and then drove off.
If you can afford a $70k truck, you can afford something normal to get groceries in.
The person posting this is just mad they can't afford a $70k truck. Loser
@Craiger, perhaps the person who posted it just found it funny?
@Craiger, let me guess, and you have one?
@GunLovingMerican, 2 actually, and 6 $150k tow trucks. People are assholes putting dings in other vehicles. I encourage my employees to park at the end and take all the room they need. And when we di get dinged we get surveillance footage from store and go after their insurance. Like I said they're assholes...
@Craiger, if they really want to avoid dings then they should take up those two spaces by parking their car at a 25 or 30 degree angle across those spaces. Someone would have to intentionally park at an angle and right next to their car (if the parking space lines are clearly marked.) at that point I would claim its vandalism if the car got dinged. Since they parked at an angle and manner with intent to damage someone else’s property.
Ive actually seen someone with a sportscar buy two tickets in a paid parking lot so he could be safe with his car. So at least he was fair about it.
I don’t care how many times I see this reposted as it is pretty spot on for a lot of people that do this.
