@SacState, I was fortunate enough to grow up in a place that was very tolerant and diverse. Unfortunately, I also know people that were not as lucky. I hope someday everyone will have the same expose as I did and we can put all these differences behind us. Because people are different. Doesn't mean that's a bad thing though.

I mean as much as I disagree with all of it, there are levels to the crazy. Typically I've seen the more intelligent hardcore feminists make the distinction between sex and gender. To them, there may be two sexes, but infinite numbers of genders or what they call gender expression. So you could conceivably believe in infinite genders and still believe in the patriarchy. Of course there are whole other sects that believe there are infinite sex and genders, so the meme could apply to them. Doesn't make much sense either way to me, since we don't and have never needed an infinite gradiation of sexes to describe the fact that some people are intersex or were born with defects, and we don't need infinite genders to describe people who don't feel like the typical male/female or have more traits typically found in the opposite sex, but I'm just playing devil's advocate for the weird brigade.

@PottedPlant, people born intersex aren’t their own gender the same way that people born with vestigial tails aren’t their own species. In addition, if gender is an entirely socially constructed phenomenon, then transgenderism makes no sense. If there’s no such thing as a male brain or a female brain then one cannot be a man in a woman’s body.
