this is America right now with literally every issue
@Fierce Deity Link, yes
@Fierce Deity Link, NO! NO! NO!!
@Fierce Deity Link, I'm just glad the rest of America realized how
@Fierce Deity Link, *realized how stupid modern feminism is in a developed country.
@Fierce Deity Link, except flip flop rights. You can wear those things anywhere and nobody thinks twice about it
@lakewood20, and that's the ONE thing we need to be strict about
As an African American White privileged male sheep donkey, I can confirm this is true
@Albino Black Sheep, I am now a Male Lesbian
@HeadlessHampster, I am now a Mail Librarian. Respect my gender-identity and be quite as I deliver your amazon package.
This is the kind if stuff that bothers me. Not just the hypocrisy but the fact that many feminists abuse feminism for their agenda such as trying to show people that they can make an impact on society whether its good or bad. What if women dont want to be 100% equal and stick to the old fashion way of life? Who are you to choose? Im sorry for small rant but i feel like this is generally an intelligent community and would understand what im saying.
@Senor Teets, there's a very aggressively named YouTube video, called why equality is a step down for women. It explains that equality of result is an impossible goal, but that we should strive for equality of opportunity. I'll link it below.
@Senor Teets, ehhhhhhhh there are some things that need to change for both sides. Gender discrimination is still very evident in the medical field. My husband and I were both in school together and the male doctors would ask his opinion/offer him opportunities/respect him while I was ignored or patronized. Out of school we applied for the same jobs and he was offered job interviews and I wasn't. I actually had MORE education than him and had the same job experience. One of the companies we applied to has a major sex discrimination suit at the moment. So it does happen, and old patriarch systems do still exist in some job fields. It sucks, but you pick up your panties and move on.
@SchroedingerPussPuss, or you could leave them down 😉
Probably not the best comment to make in a conversation about sexism
@Senor Teets, and this is why I'm a humanist
@ Tobias Widower, I'm genuinely shocked the video was removed. Smh
@confused commenter , I wouldn't be a very good Stuckpixel fan if I couldn't laugh at that :D
In all honesty, men have a socially expectable standard, and it's a really exaggerated one. People don't realize it because it's such a long running thing that everyone thinks it's supposed to be that way but some of those expectations puts a lot of pressure on some men.
I'm not saying there's nothing going wrong for women, I'm just saying the world has put weird, twisted, expectations and labels on everyone and they can find a thousand reasons to do it.
Why can we all just be humans with human rights?
I like pancakes
@Cips, you understand the important things friend. Power to ya and enjoy your breakfast!
Men have no domestic violence hotline in the US. If they call the female one, they're redirected to an aggressor hotline. A study found about 16% of the time a man is mocked when calling the domestic violence hotline. In the UK, calling the police against an attacking female partner almost always results in the male being threatened with arrest and usually results in the male being arrested. There's a lot more I could go on about, like the willful ignorance of female on male rape statistics or the mess that is US divorce court, which not only encourages discrimination against males, but requires it by law, but I'd be here all night then.
Honestly have nothing against feminism(cause by definition it's equality of the sexes) but third wave western feminism has become autistic, I should know I am a shortbus. When I argue this point my friends say men aren't oppressed I any way, women haven't had the right to vote since less than a hundred years ago and still aren't paid equally. Then comes the argument of yeah but you have the suffrage now, the pay wage gap has been disproven so many times you could call it trumps real hair. In addition socially men are stressed and the male suicide and imprisonment statistics are too damn high, while women also deal with being the most sexually assaulted, to wrap up this run on sentence, unpunctuated arson, everyone has problems that must be helped, why fight over who's movement can get it done better, feminists untwist your panties and realize men have problems too, bring everything into to public and think of solutions not this mythical thing called the patriarchy.
@autismo the shortbus, the wage gap when it comes to the same job almost never happens and when it is found out, there are many punishments to the employeer. The wage gap does exist for the average paid man and average paid woman.
@autismo the shortbus, Why do people keep saying autistic to mean stupid?
@Tentacle Monster, but the "wage gap" comes purely down to personal decisions, hours worked, profession, choice of degree, so on and so forth. A teacher will never make as mush as a surgeon, nor will an accountant make as much as a rocket scientist. It's simple, you want equal pay as a man, work as hard, as much, and exert yourself as much.
@Ap3xZ3r0, That's part of it, but some of it has to do with the social views that both men and women have about women needing to be delicate little flowers. Once we get rid of those views, women won't be discouraged to take the physically demanding jobs. They are free to take these jobs at any time, but it's the idea that they can't which is holding many women back.
@Tentacle Monster, also the wage gap isn't real. The average earning of a man and woman in the same job is roughly a 2 cent difference. And that has to do with women staying home more to take care of their children. And those views that women are "delicate" is based on the fact that men are, on average, 2 or 3 times stronger than a female counterpart. But I do agree that special treatment needs to be thrown out the window.
@KeKesUHaulFacility , cause I'm autismo.
@autismo the shortbus, that's not really an excuse for using a serious mental condition as a synonym for stupid
@LeafOnTheW1nd, didn't stop your mom from calling me it last night!* High fives self for creative and original yo momma joke *
@autismo the shortbus, that was about as creative and original as an Adam Sandler movie...
@LeafOnTheW1nd, well, he's only making them at this point for cash and fame, also harvesting souls of actors he traps in every DVD
@autismo the shortbus, I assumed it was so he and his dumb little buddies could go on holiday
You can say that they don't all you want but most feminists do recognize men's problems, in fact most of what is uploaded on funnypics about feminism is untrue or horribly exaggerated.
@Gay Rattlesnake , generally I hear about "the patriarchy" as a system that is harmful to men and women. We assume men are leaders so consider them weak when they follow. We consider them strong so we roll our eyes when they cry. We consider women delicate so we accept them as victims more easily than men. These things aren't fair and to be equal means equal treatment, not female supremacy. But no one seems to listen to that line of reasoning because they just want to focus on mocking the extremists.
@HolyCatchphrase, yes. This
@HolyCatchphrase, there are real patriarchies though, all over the middle East, however mainstream western feminism refuses to touch it in fear of their fellow social justice warriors calling them islamiphobic and racist, like the cologne Germany attacks, it was mostly right wing media that covered it and defended women unfortunately
@autismo the shortbus, Those countries have their own feminist movements, why do they need ours too?
@KeKesUHaulFacility , not even mainstream feminists in Germany covered the attacks, again, mostly right wing news sources covered it. Mainstream feminism is just now touching on the migrant issue and just barely. Plus if feminism wants to fight the patriarchy, then why not fight a real one like in the Islamic world. In Islamic countries women can barely speak up, why not try to reach out and help?
@autismo the shortbus, There are feminist movements in those countries, and if you look even a little bit you'll find western solidarity with those women fighting for their rights. What do you want us to do, move there?
@KeKesUHaulFacility , try to take back the mainstream, cause I take it you're a feminist, you seem sensible and do not think that patriarchs can survive in first world counties and that the pay wage gap isn't real. Those that most call feminszis I call social justice warriors or sjw, those are the ones screaming patriarchy and sexism with no evidence, maybe try more to mute those ones and bring back sensible feminism?
@autismo the shortbus, Based on what you've said it sounds more like you just want me to ridicule other women for their differing philosophies on dealing with modern sexism and I can't get down like that, sorry.
@KeKesUHaulFacility , sorry if it came off like that, it's just that an infection has lead feminism away from its true definition, equality amongst the sexes socially and politically. Only focusing on women or calling down men is the wrong way to go. I was meaning to ask you what your take on this is without looking down on them, I'm just coming out of a snarky a-hole faze on this subject and want to see eye to eye.
@autismo the shortbus, I think that if a girls version of feminism is quiet then that's ok, if it's loud and has purple hair and cat eye glasses then that's ok too, if it's sucking dick for money that's fine, if it's on twitter calling out teenage fvckboys more power to her. If a girls version of feminism excludes black women and women of color that's bad, if it excludes trans people that's a no-go, if it erases the struggle of men with toxic masculinity and gender roles then it's fraudulent. I won't call out other women just because their version of feminism is different than mine, only if it's exclusionary. I think this desire to group feminists into "good, saintly women who mean no harm to the fragile male psyche" and "evil, fat hags who want to drown you in their menstruation fluids" comes from a more deep-seated issue of this culture we live in where women are always supposed to be pitted against each other.
@Gay Rattlesnake , actually no. Whilst there are the good feminists out there, they are the minority sadly. Most of modern feminism are women that have had some poor experience with men in the last and due to poor judgement and overreaction, believe that all men are pigs and should be enslaved.
Girl: Mom, I went on the internet today and people tried to tell me facts.
Mother: That's terrible dear, say your Anitas and go to your safe space. Want a glass of male tears?
Let's talk about foreign relations, news about what's happening in other countries and world connection America. "Oh noo lets talk about sexism instead because words hurt."
I just want to say that I'm a feminist AND I fight for men issues like these because I'm not a fake feminist and I just believe we should all have equal rights no matter how we wanna call the movement (egalitarian or whatever, if we fight for the same things, I love you)
The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.
Ummmm female circumcision is done specifically to mutilate and make sex non enjoyable. Male circumcision helps prevent bacteria build up and at this point is just commonplace. I'm a dude. Just pointing out everyone nodding in agreement with this crap is mad ignorant
@Nickson, I posted pretty much the same thing. I wish I could downvote people's downvotes, because downvoting something so basically obvious is dumb. So here's an upvote.
I'm going to take a guess here and say that Stuck pixel is run by men.
@Tentacle Monster, They're in California, so you couldn't be farther from the truth.
@CriTiKa1, I've lived in California my whole life... Are you under the impression women run everything here?
@HolyCatchphrase, higher employment rate is all
@HolyCatchphrase, No, I'm under the impression that California is a liberal hell hole filled with those idiot progressives.
@CriTiKa1, well it's very pleasant here actually. But to each their own.
'And that's all five of the places where men have it worse than women!'
Woman: 'That's pretty serious. Here's Volume I of the places where women have it worse..'
@Krieger San, woman: and if you call in right now, we've got an incredible deal for you, you can also get volume 2 of SEXISM'S GREATEST HITS for just the price of shipping and handling!
@Krieger San, I am disappoint.
What needed to be said has been said
As a man i disagree with this, mens privalage far outweighs any perks women get thay can be deemeed "sexist" and yo say otherwise is ignorant. Though anygroup faces aome form of inequality white males get by far the most benifit. Jus sayin.
@robee, Like what? The higher much higher suicide rates? The elevated rate of workplace injuries? Not getting nearly as much custody over your own children? Wrongful rape accusations that happen ALL the time? There was a man in Canada who tried to start a shelter for male abuse victims and their children. He had been abused by his ex wife and then spiralled into depression after. His shelter was built entirely off of his own funds because the he couldn't get any private donations or government help because his shelter wasn't for women. After his shelter shut down because he couldn't pay for it he hung himself in his garage. We do have benefits in some areas but there are lots of benefits women have over men as well.
@Crisschan, higher suicide rates:
Many nations have high estimated rates of unreported female suicide.
Elivated workplace injury:
Men are proven to participate in higher risk behavior
Paradigm is shifting but males are much more likely to abuse their children.
Wrongful rape accusations?!?!:
Whqt about the incredibly high rates of actual unreported rapes of women?
Also although the canadian case is sad and i agree he was not given due justice to say men have it "better off" or male sexism is a real problem is like saying affirmative action is racist to whites. Its a contradiction that many in todays society do not understand and apparently neither do you.
@robee, To say that sexism against men isn't sexism is ignorant.
@robee, on the subject of custody cases, it's common for women to get the kids based off old tradition and an old court bias of younger kids need their mom's and that's that, however now cases are looking over the parents and saying who gets them or split custody preferably. I'm glad to see statistics showing fathers getting their kids more because a close friend of mine had a bipolar drug addict mother who even stole from them to get money for drugs, he would leave his phone on the table them it would be gone and never seen again, his dad fought for two years and finally gained custody. This kid is now an empty shell thanks to years of abuse, he holds all emotions inside and can never express them. Everyone is an individual, courts should research the parents before deciding custody. I myself live with my single mother because I finally got fed up with my alcoholic father. Differing cases for different people, true equality.
@Crisschan, The one I know is most often quoted by feminists is that men get paid more. I don't know how true this is, as the living wage varies from place to place, and women in higher positions are a relatively new thing.
@robee, you could be right! I'll read more into it
@robee, affirmative action is racist against all groups who do not benefit from it. I.e. Asians are typically discriminated against because of affirmative action in colleges.
To say that it is ok to give one group of people a benefit, and another group of people a penalty, based solely on the color of their skin is, by definition, racism.
Affirmative action based on economic status would be great. But basing it on race/gender is simply racism/sexism.
Oh, and looking at colleges, men should currently benefit from affirmative action (but they don't). As 60% of all college students are female, while only 50% of college age students are female. Meaning that women are over-represented in college, and men are under-represented.
@talmet, typo: that should have been "while only 50% of the population is female."
Female circumcision and male circumcision are totally different. Just sayin'...
What the fjck, has this app been taken over by downvote nazi's or something?
@tumblretard, kinda, more or less white knights and feminazi social justice warriors, unable to listen to arguments or bring valid points so they just downvote, not saying any names though * cough Dr. Rick sanchez * cough cough
@tumblretard, apparently you're one of them since you down voted me.
@autismo the shortbus, He's gotten involved a lot in these arguments, but sometimes arguing on the internet gets tedious and annoying.
@Tentacle Monster, I did? Huh, yeah I got confused in all the arguing. I don't know why I do, I just enjoy arguing the topic, maybe cause I'm cis scum
this site has a really warped view of Feminists and Feminism, A. They do want equality between the sexes B. It is not run by man hating harpies they are a minority, C. they do recognise that society does hinder men (toxic masculinity) as well however it pales in comparison to the obstacles women face (wage gap, sexualisation, slut shaming, rape culture etc) hence why they focus more on women's issues and finally Feminism is a progressive movement that is trying to bring about positive social change and should be embraced
I like the message a lot, but the medium of delivery is like giving a sermon on a soap box in a fish market.
