Expectation Vs. Reality
You guys remember how Harambe was funny for the first few pictures and then somehow kept going to the end of the year? It kept going to the point that people were begging it to stop, that's where we are with this meme. Many have voiced their distaste for this meme and it would do all of us a good service if it would please stop.
@NotJesus, I disagree. I thought this was humorous at first. If StuckPixel would have allowed only 1 of each new variation through and not 100, I think it might still be ok. Any pic, good or bad, will be downvoted into oblivion by the time it's posted for the 20th time. I think saturation is what kills it, not the actual content. Also evidenced by the current 11 upvotes and 0 downvotes. Although, just like Harambe pics, the constant whining still humors me even if the pic doesn't.
Edit- 264 upvotes 4 downvotes shows people do tend to like these types of things at first.
@Fappy Pics, if you look at the parallels between the uncut section with this meme and the collective section of ifunny you can start to see the horrifying resemblance, I don't want to go down that path, this isn't even a meme much less a dank one
@NotJesus, only difference is that harambe was never funny
@Fappy Pics, I uploaded one of these pictures unaware of how many times it had already been done. After the shjtstorm of downvotes I got, I realized that I made a mistake. Some of us just don't know until it's too late.
@Nitr0Nerd, on one of the 100 pics, I suggested that users be given the ability to remove submitted pics from their pending queue. I think many would have used this option.
@fappy pics And that's a very good point. Saturation is most definitely an important factor with memes. However, the joke itself is just not funny to me. And by looking at this picture I'd say it's not just me either.
@NotJesus, well, to counter your last point, if you saw the first few postings, people were having fun trying to make the votes even. So several people liked it and made comments regarding this. However, by the 10th repost, it had lost its luster. And that is what you can see in this pic. And now your last point is agreeable.
@Fappy Pics, And that's exactly how I felt at the time. It was interesting for the first few pictures and then everybody started doing it.
@NotJesus, what? What is this nonsense? A civil discussion in my funny pics?
*throws away popcorn*
I still don't have the uncut section yet.
I don't get it
