It’s terrifyingly accurate
Homelander is like the first character I honestly say scares the crap out of me
@megamanx181x, That is honestly how I reccomend it to people. Just by saying "Homelander is the scariest villain I have even seen!", I cannot give a better recommendation.
@A Scientologist, damn right
@megamanx181x, dude... getting this show described to me, I thought homelander was just some over powered asshole. Him literally being devoid of any human moral compass is actually terrifying. Im usually one to cheer on a good antagonist but homelander creeps me out.
@megamanx181x, we've all gotten too used to the traditional bad guy that are in marvel, star wars, and hollywood big films. Gotta do the selfish psychopath with and no particular goal other than hedonistic actions.
I describe him as a dictator kind of character that doesnt hold official office but has super powers.
@AldoTheApache, it’s a whole new level of terror, I don’t even think you can describe him as a villain because he has no typical goals. He’s just a severely emotionally unstable monster.
@Runnin with scissors, I agree, I never felt this scared toward any fictional character before.
@megamanx181x, i know that scene where he left those people on the plane to die was fvcked up sorry for spoilers
@HellHog, I’m up to date on every episode, gosh that’s fvcking horrible
@megamanx181x, and the way he can subtly intimidate people like when he confronts the Deep about finding the plane wreckage and just places his hands on his shoulders. Also how he can be so charming one second and then literally murder someone the next. The actor plays him so well
@downunderdoctor, oh and the terror the other heroes have around him, they know the second they are alone with him he’s going to threaten them
@megamanx181x, i fear no man. But that thing that THING scares me
Emotionally unstable, drugged infused, sex crazed, overpowered and completely unstoppable. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
@ImNotRacistBut, don't forget sociopathic and with absolutely no self control!
Yeah the US is a bunch of douchebags for stopping the Nazis in ww2, billions upon billions in foreign aid, protecting most of Europe for the past century, or how about the more recent UAE-Israel peace deals? Peace in the Middle East has long been a joke, now its starting to be a reality. Sure there have been some big issues, but the net results are far more beneficial to the world than harm.
@spongeblade, the USA is to blaim for many, many issues in the East, and to take credit for peace in the region is the equivalent of Britain saying it gave Americans their freedom.
The net results are beneficial to privileged Americans and Westerners more than the world.
@Factory BOY, oh please the east is a mess even if the usa didnt exist.
literally it was a mess even before the USA existed
"How to defend yourself in court" is such a stupid one. Lawyers spend years in law school learning to do that, you're not gonna do it in a few years of high school classes.
Both and both.
Conservatives vs Liberals.
@Cave Dweller, which is why so many people voted third party that there's two independents in the final round of elections.
@Your Waifu, an interesting, albeit entirely wrong, take. Comment stands as-is.
@Cave Dweller, I don't see how it's in any way incorrect, as there actually are two third party candidates still running.
@Your Waifu, of course, you don’t. That is the virtue of being wrong. Be well.
@Cave Dweller, but im not wrong, and you've in no way stated how I am, so as far as I and every other person on this app are concerned you're only calling me wrong so you can say you're right, even though I was in no way disagreeing with your original comment. Also, please stop ending your comments with "be well". Nobody talks like this, and it's obnoxious and condescending to always act like your comment will be the last comment made. It's also very obvious whenever you argue with someone that you don't actually want them to be well, so it just comes off as passive aggressive.
@Your Waifu, It is not my interest to teach you how you are wrong as it is not my interest that you learn. Your critique is noted, your assumptions (per usual) are ridiculous but your own to bear, and your requests will be ignored. Be well... or not.
@Cave Dweller, I've made no assumptions, just stated facts. If you don't like them, too bad, but that doesn't make them wrong. Your refusal to properly tell me how you think I'm wrong only makes it seem even more like you don't actually know. Adding the or not to be well also only makes you seem even more obviously passive aggressive. Really the only ridiculous thing here is your refusal to make any actual point in the argument that you started.
@Your Waifu, ok Karen. Be well.
@Cave Dweller, resorting to slander now, are we? How very professional of you. "Be well."
@Your Waifu, *Tucker laugh* Ok.
@Cave Dweller, if you think that means anything to me then you're sorely mistaken. "Be well."
@Cave Dweller, hes wrong but youre not gonna tell him how. In my experience that just means you dont have enough knowledge on the subject to actrually discuss/ debate someone on it.
@CocoasBro, It would appear your experience, in this case, is very limited.
@Cave Dweller, wow I can almost feel the smug elitism through the phone.
@Cave Dweller, ill never understand someone who refuses to defend their own values or beliefs.
@CocoasBro, there is nothing to defend and no one to defend against. Be well.
@Cave Dweller, well then I guess you cant be educated. Be well.
@CocoasBro, *Tucker laugh* ok Karen.
@Your Waifu, Don't even sweat it. He is one of those people who have been so brainwashed, so inured in their own arrogance of ignorance that he has taken up the mantra of his ilk of accusations of "fake news" or the old gem "do your research" like they are the only valid source of facts.
@Funny Pics Janitor, and then scoffs at you any time you present them with any evidence and goes on to stroke their own ego instead of actually rebutting your argument because they don't actually have a rebuttal.
@Cave Dweller, dude u calling him karen. Do u not see see all you downvotes?
@Funny Pics Janitor, invention and brainlessness. Amazing!
@jerriest jerry, oh no, not down votes. Anything but down votes. You must be a child or an idiot. Either way, berating you would be abuse. Be well.
@Cave Dweller, oooo this is fun. Why can't i be both ? I mean u could still berate me. Im game. Show me you have something better then be well. ABUSE ME DADDY!
Yikes! @jerriest jerry. You’re doing fine on your own. Really, be well.
@Cave Dweller, but it is in your interest to tell them they are wrong ? Not how, but just that they are ?
Not stating who’s right or wrong here, I’m just gonna call you out for that asshat behavior.
If you are gonna spark debate, at least participate. Otherwise just.... you know, keep it to yourself and move on.
@Rodestarr, the very mistake you’ve made here. It seems the Liberal mind is incapable if self reflection. Strange and equally brainless.
Please leave this here and be well.
The U.S.A is Evil. I wanna live in a world where the state owns everything, and I have no rights! I wanna be able to be killed on a whim of any government offical thats true utopia!
- Every socialists
@CocoasBro, yep. you’re completely right, thats verbatim what we believe. we def dont just want to not go bankrupt whenever we need medical care. DEFINITELY dont want protection from profit-driven entities that have proven since the impetus of capitalism that they will kill and abuse people to improve a margin
governments arent perfect, they’re made of people, and id like them to be kept reasonably small. only downside is, when people dont have rules, the strong victimize the weak. every time. without exception. in every civilization since the dawn of time.
you act like we’re big brother simping party members cuz we’d rather have semi-problematic rules than no rules.
and your entire statements a MASSIVE strawman. if you have the idealogical upper ground, you shouldnt have to rely on rhetorical fallacies
@Hoban Washburne, you should google the definition of socialism buddy. It doesnt mean what you think it means.
@Hoban Washburne, you can't reason with this kind of ignorance. What people fail to realize is that one of the basic tenets of socialism is "Equality of opportunity does NOT ensure equality of outcome." They also forget that police & fire stations, public schools & hospitals and many other services are socialist entities. They just hear the word socialism as if it was a dirty word. Don't bother.
@CocoasBro, it might not mean what you think it means either. Also, it's possible to have socialist leaning policies without having a socialist government, as socialism is just the far end of the economic spectrum of government types, with the opposite end being individualism, where the government has absolutely no control or interference with the market. There's plenty of examples in US history of why the government might sometimes need to interfere with the market to help or protect the citizens, and most of them resulted in slightly more socialist leaning policies, so now were somewhere between those two extremes, but still much closer to individualism than socialism, which is why we still have monopolies, political lobbyists, and privatized medicine, banking, and education that can cost an arm and a leg (yes that's a pun), among other things.
@Your Waifu, by that logic any policy that grants the government any more control or authority is socialist in nature. I refuse to give them that credit theres a reason why sweden doesnt identify itself as socialist.
@Funny Pics Janitor, you couldnt prove my point better if you tried. By your logic were already in a socialist system, where not if you google the definition youll find it means communal ownership of the means of production and not government control of *insert here*
@Funny Pics Janitor, its like calling yourself a nazi but then being like " why do all these people fearmonger my movement dont they know nazism just means nationalistic increases in government. Clearly theyre just idealistic and brainwashed." No youre just stupid enough to name your movement after a word you dont understand.
@CocoasBro, socialist policies arent the same thing as a socialist economy, and the government having more control is not socialist, it's authoritarian. Authoritarian ideology is about the government holding as much power as possible, with as little power belonging to the citizens as possible. The opposite of authoritarian is democracy, and much like socialism and individualism these are a sliding scale. Note that much like America has a mostly but not purely individualist economy, it also has a mostly but not purely democratic government. All governments are a blend of policies from different political and economic ideologies, as this is essentially required to be a well-functioning country. I'd note also that there's already several large parts of our country's law that are more socialist than they are individualist or capitalist, a prime example being unions, which being non profit are economically socialist by definition, and play an important role in our economy.
@Your Waifu, you can have complete government control over the economy without it being authoritarian. Socialism specifically refers to the communal siezing of the means of production. Also known as complete government control over the economy. You can google this.
@Your Waifu, authoritarian-
Favouring or enforcing strict obedience to authority, especially that of the government at the expense of personal freedom.
So ok i guess socialism is inherently authoritarian.
@CocoasBro, that's not socialism, thats communism. Socialism is specifically an economic ideology where profit is not the goal of the economy, and where the government regulates the market to a large degree. Socialism is not necessarily authoritarian, much like capitalism is not necessarily democratic. For example, China right now is both authoritarian and capitalist, while Switzerland is largely democratic and socialist.
The confusion between communist and socialist ideologies likely comes from the fact that communism as a form of government is inherently socialist. However, socialism is not inherently communist.
Why do you think he's called Homelander?
Ehh I would say we are a mix of both overall, depending on what troglodytes are elected in Washington
