Idk what I'd want more in this world, powers or mechs
@Fishsticksandcustard, power mechs?
@Fishsticksandcustard, why not both? *traditional Japanese music*
@Captain Britain, Mech powers. I could be a transformer!
@Your Car, if you could transform into a girlfriend that would be perfect...
@Captain Britain, You want a car as your girlfriend? I'm flattered.
@A Clever Name, beat me to it
@Your Car, not quite what I meant but I suppose there's more than one way to use an exhaust ;)
@Captain Britain, Not as flattered as I was before.
@Your Car, what do you mean? That was straight out the book on how to pick up cars
@Captain Britain, Yeah... do you think a car wrote that book?
@Your Car, maybe... if the car also happens to be a strong independent black woman who don't need no man. So no...
@A Clever Name, *Gundam theme music
@Captain Britain, Thought so.
@Fishsticksandcustard, But with mechs, you can obtain power! Has anime taught you nothing? And Transformers?
@Fishsticksandcustard, we need a gundam.
As much as I love mechs, I have always felt that they wouldn't be nearly as powerful in real life, and would just be an easy target and get oneshotted by an rpg or something.
@Ahri, true but look at the mechs in halo the mantis is op as hell
@Killing instincts , Those are fictional.
@Killing instincts , Mechs are impractical at least tall bipedal ones. Balance is to much of an issue and they would simply topple over and fall because it is too difficult to get a fully mobile bipedal robot. Which is if there were to be an mechs they would be quadruped or treaded look at most military robots today being developed most follow that design. As for defense most mechs would simply be downed from a mile a way by a tank. Or from beyond line of sight from the sky by a jet, or a by enemy personnel armed with AT weapons from multiple directions overwhelming the machine. I mean the only reason the mantis is good is because its a game vehicles are supposed to be OP for gameplay sake. If the mantis was in a game like bf4 it would be massacred in a instant.
@NoBleBaRd, a Halo mantis has extremely thick armor plating and a energy shield (though possible in real life not effective) of charged particles making it OP this mech is most likely made of alloys
@Corner assassin, This Gundam in the picture is the Alex Gundam which uses advanced materials which do not exist i.e gudanium. The mantis can easily be penetrated by the 120mm shoulder fired rockets in the game. Well an M1 abrams can fire a 120mm HE shell out to 2 miles throwing the mantis off balance by shear force of impact. Now this will not kill it because of the shielding as you pointed out however this will strip it of its shields or at least weaken it so a second tank can fire a depleted uranium sabot round (capable of going through 250mm of armor which is more than enough) at the mech piercing the shields and eliminating the pilot.
Guys, am i an NPC? :(
@amqwetts2147, No, you're not an NPC... You might be almost a little bit of a troll though ;-)

Don't underestimate the power of my Nu Gundam!
For those wondering what this is, it is a near 20 year old picture used in a joke that fooled quite a bit of people internationally. The 'mech' is the RX-93 Nu Gundam from Chars Counterattack. I made this account to comment on this picture specifically. My time has come.
So it looks like we have Starscream; I think we win
@bronze512, Starscream is nothing compared to the Nu Gundam.
Id without a doubt join the military to be a Gundam pilot
@CaptainMoist, Aww yah buddy though it would be insanely hard to pilot one of those things well most of us would end up like GMs or Zakus :/
I want Metal Gear to be a real thing
@GreenB, hell yes
So looks like Japan was really inspired by Titan fall
PLOT TWIST : they are both Starscream!
Actually the US is Japan's army so technically the airplane would be what's in Japan
At least someone is preparing for Godzilla
Is that real?
