If you’re going to use an asterisk to correct someone’s mistake the asterisk comes BEFORE the correction, i.e. *$2000

Is it me or is this the incorrect use of this meme? I’ve always thought it was sarcastic shock he was expressing.
I see the comments are trying to correct what looks like an obvious mistake but the reality is that this was clearly made by some one who isn’t American. I know this because in some cultures, like Russia, the money symbol goes behind the numbers instead of in front.
