Ok what the actual fvck? His dog, his property, and his life to risk. No firefighter would chase after someone going back into a blaze, it puts another life at risk. Reckless endangerment is in relation to others safety and well being. Like seriously what charge could they also him with?
@ Tobias Widower, as much as I agree with you, it's the idea that he put firefighters at risk. I would do the same as him, but that's what the state will go after him for. So I'm making assumptions here, but i bet some firefighter with a bug up his ass told him not to and he did it anyway so the firefighter had the cop arrest him, or the police arrived before the firefighters, told him to stay back, but he ran past them to get the dog, so they arrested him for not respecting their athoritah. Either way seems equally likely to me.
@ThePandaPool , except that's literally rule 1. Never enter a building in pursuit of a civilian. They've made the decision to put themselves at risk by re-entering. For firefighters to properly follow procedure, they'd need to send 2 people in (2 in 2 out rule) and trying to restrain/ drag out a resistant human is definitely going to take longer than just waiting him out.
Biggest thing is mitigating risk to life. Is it callous to think, better one than three? Absolutely. But its also correct. Better to call the coroner for one crispy critter than 3.
@ Tobias Widower, hey I didnt disagree with you. I only pointed out what the likely charge would be and the likely scenario.
The dog was made of drugs
humanity is fvcked
So they arrested him and threw his dog back in? Hardcore law. Also I bet they had a moment where they stopped him for a second and told him: "if you run in there your life is forfeit..." and he was like: "Well then.. foreit it is." *Runs in*
Needs a lawyer to represent him pro bono damn it
Same as many states in the US you can be arrested for attempting suicide. it’s a felony. Also if the police and firefighters say don’t go in and you do, that’s some kind of ignoring emergency personnel or something.
