The black sheep of the UK
Who here is NOT from the US?
@Ditto, what would a downvote mean?
@Ditto, I'm from Texas, the biggest country in the US.
@chunkybear40, Alaska is bigger and is part of the US. If you meant connected to the US, then you are correct.
@chunkybear40, wait, we're in the US?
@TheOmnipotent, I'm not good at phrasing.
@Ditto, I'm from EngLAND
@chunkybear40, HOWDY DOO jk I'm from Texas too
@TheOmnipotent, I think you missed the joke.
@chunkybear40, it was a country for a while. The republic of texas
@wantonwalrus, I thought he did too but the poster admitted fault.....
@TheOmnipotent, um - California?
@TheOmnipotent, Alaska wasn't an independent republic before becoming a state like Texas was, though. Texas IS the biggest (and only) country IN the US.
@Ditto, I'm not from the U.S., but I live in the U.S. lol
@Ditto, hereeees johnny
@chunkybear40, that'd be Alaska.
@Ditto, I'm from Arizona
@Ditto, born in Ghana, raised in Germany
@Ditto, Wisconsin, I love knowing that people from all over the world use this
@The Sucky Uploads, any one here from England from Gloucestershire??
@Filker, the theme park company Six flags is based out of texas. The six flags signify that the area of texas was governed under six different "flags" or countries: Spain, England, France, Mexico, Republic of Texas, USA
@Ditto, Denmark :)
@Ditto, Originally England but now I'm Canadian
@biolojist, England never controlled Texas, the other one is the Confederate States of America
@chunkybear40, I think Alaska is the biggest country in the US, unless you meant contiguous
@chunkybear40, bush's ears were enough for you to have your own country
@Ditto, I'm from planet Vegeta
@Ditto, I'm Canadian
@TheOmnipotent, what is satire
@Ditto, I wish I wasn't from the US sometimes
@chunkybear40, California has the highest population
@Ditto, everyone says I'm Canadian beCause of how apologetic and nice I am. I'm really American. Born and raised in the out skirts of Philly
@Ditto, Scotland but my mother is American and my dad is scottish so I suppose I'm a big racial fruit smoothie
@Ditto, hi, I am a British person
@chunkybear40, well new Jersey has 40 degree temperature changes in just hours.
@chunkybear40, not quite sure if joking or stupid. Alaska is bigger area wise, New York's bigger population wise. Don't say things like that. It makes us other Texans look bad.
@chunkybear40, Me too
@Ditto, I'm from canada
@Ditto, I was born in Florida but moved to Mississippi
@chunkybear40, ATX BABY!
@Ditto, Canada eh!
@chunkybear40, an illustration Texas' education, ladies and gentlemen.
@Ditto, CANADA!! WOOO FVCKING YOU BOSHES!!
@Filker, Vermont and Hawaii were both independent nations for a decade or so as well. California technically was independent also, but that lasted for like 5 days.
@Grammatik fuehrer, Alaska was never an independent nation while California, though once a free nation, was only independent for less than a month so most don't consider that to be an official nation. Texas was independent from 1836-1845. Vermont was also a nation from 1778-1790 (ish). Hawaii was independent as a modernized state for about 10 years before it was annexed by America. So since Texas is larger than either Vermont and Hawaii both by size and population it is the biggest country (not state, that's the joke) in the US.
@TheOmnipotent, texas can actually be on its own.
They ha e their own power grid.Where Alaska would have a struggle to be its own country.
@Ditto, New Zealand
@chunkybear40, good to hear, I'm glad that was so relevant to the question asked
@Grammatik fuehrer, Texas has 10 million more people than NY though, so your argument is invalid.
@Ditto, I'm from eyeurlaanduh
@Ditto, ditto that Ditto, I'm a proud limey.
@The Sucky Uploads, me too
@chunkybear40, well technically we were a country
@Ditto, the best are

The British passports have a unicorn
Fvck yeah, Wales! Anyone else Welsh? :D
@Ry Or Am I, possibly....
@TheWelshOne, that doesn't really answer my question. What, you think I can assume someone's nationality from their name or something? Geez, get it together man...
@Ditto, I'm from louisiana the most uneducated country in the US lol
@Dr Genitals, I'm from Mississippi and I rezint thatt staitmont.

Proud to be welsh!
Ireland not part of the UK though...
@The Poll Man, Nobody even mentioned the UK but yes, part of it is, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Republic of Ireland however is not part of the UK.
@Animaniac95, northern Ireland is just a part of Ireland under British rule, it's not a country and the "Republic of Ireland" is just called Ireland
@32CountyIreland1916, I didn't say they were separate countries, Northern Ireland is part of the UK but not part of Great Britain, I had to say the Republic of Ireland to differentiate between the two parts otherwise I would have just repeated what The Poll Man said. If The Poll Man meant the Republic of Ireland in the first place then he should have specified as where I come from just "Ireland" could mean either part or the whole island.
@32CountyIreland1916, Sorry to let you know, but Northern Ireland is in fact a country. It has it's own borders, it's own capital, and uses the Pound like the rest of Great Britain... Just thought I'd clear that up for you
@EDM Death Machine, it's just a part of Ireland that Britain claimed as theirs because the Pope told them they have rights to all the small islands off the coast of England. They saw this as an opportunity to claim Ireland as their own and banished the Irish people of ulster to death or connaught. It might legally be a country and use the pound to be different from the rest of Europe. But it was just stolen from Ireland
Fun fact, there was a poll a while back to change the Welsh flag. Hilariously enough, someone submitted the Gurren Lagann flag, and it had 55% ish popularity, winning the competition. It was later removed as a contestant for some dumb reason
Can I just say that Americans most likely know next to nothing about what's going on between Ireland/N. Ireland and England, so it'd be best if they didn't say anything about it, unless they want a shjtstorm flying at their face. Sorry if I offended anyone, it wasn't at all intended.
I have a Welsh flag outside my house. Everyone is too scared to ask me what it means. Sitmai Cymru!
I'm Welsh and this is how we feel. --The highlander in Idaho
