@Zurrke, it's supposed to work like that, but it's not a perfect system. Things get listed wrong or stolen items and such.

@ThePandaPool , ye especially when customers put something in their cart, walk to the other side of the store, then decide they don't want it so they just leave it there so inventory gets messed up

@Zurrke, I work at Walmart and honestly, the counts are so off that the app will say we have 15 and we actually have -7 somehow.

@ThePandaPool , no I didn’t. If she found one online, bought it, and the girl went and got it, then they obviously had at least one in stock. I know that things can be stolen or inventory can be wrong but in this case that clearly didn’t happen

@ThePandaPool , I had a Walmart employee lie to me yesterday. I told her “do you have any non-bundles?” And she said no, besides non-bundle Xbox is the same price as bundle. I told her she has no clue what she’s saying right now. Idiot.

The problem being when you order online like that the system has to designate which xbox would be picked up. Which does not happen instantly especially if the store doesnt have one in stock.

Wally World manager here, that customer would be waiting a minimum of 4 hours to get the xbox. And that's a big IF it was actually available and in stock. Theres like 3 different systems, and 6 different factors that affect the pick up process.

Maybe they are really sold out and the person just searched for someone else before they came in, if not, get a manager.

@TR8R, the whole "buy it online, in store pickup, there it is" instantly B.S. I can assure you, if the item is OUT, that doesn't mean "order it online, it magically materializes in store!" and if it WAS in the back like that, someone else had ordered it online, and will now be missing their order. In a nutshell, this whole thing reeks of a "I'm gonna pretend I beat the system!" story that people like to tell, when in reality, they wouldn't have the courage to even approach someone for help, much less argue with them.

@Suicide Squad Sucks, yeah I can see that. I think at the very least it’s weird that the girl she is arguing with would then be the one to have to go pick it up for her, that would be very unlikely

@TR8R, very unlikely, there's a dedicated team for the pick up orders, and it's usually not anyone in the electronics dept.
