I’m one with the Chi and the Chi is with me.
I'm conflicted on this movie. On the one hand, people are telling me not to watch it because the lead actress supports the oppressive police force in Hong Kong. On the other hand, people are telling me not to watch it because it's a bad movie.
@SimonPetrikov, I was hoping for the scene of the tasty rice porridge with eggs and bacon like in the cartoon, but nope.
@SimonPetrikov, they also cut everything interesting out of it because of said oppressive politics.
@SimonPetrikov, I really hope with all the controversy around this (and the fact it costs 30 fvcking dollars just to watch it) that it'll be enough to encourage Disney to just stop with the live action remakes. They've all been garbage and a waste of money and people's time
@SimonPetrikov, it actually is a really bad movie. Everything looks like it was shot in someones garage. And like @Bad Suggestions said, they cut out all the interesting stuff. So DO watch it to make your own opinion of the film. Or dont depending on how you feel about the politics. Only 2 things i liked is that Bruce Lee comes out in it (Jason Scott Lee) and also Jet Li. Other than that, it's crap.
@Bad Suggestions, can you elaborate? I'm very far out of the loop on pretty much everything. Like what was interesting in the movie that interfered with politics? (Not trying to call you out or argue Im just curious)
@TheWafflingDead, imagine actually paying to watch it.
@sikkdog, The twist is that I'm ACTUALLY not going to watch this because I straight up forget movies exist until long after they've released. I've wanted to watch Parasite and The Lighthouse for awhile now and nothing is stopping me except for me.
@MetalHeadTony, they cut out Mushu...MUSHU!!!
They cut out the kiss too, there’s probably a list somewhere that I don’t currently have the internet speed to quickly look up.
@Bad Suggestions, those bastards
@SimonPetrikov, if you need another reason to not watch it, it was filmed in a reeducation camp
@SimonPetrikov, I thought the movie series was absolutely amazing, granted I don’t care for politics. Also, I watched it on Netflix (so it didn’t cost anything)...
