I'm not smart enough to understand this but by-golly that sure is neat.
@Penguin Airlines, When waves hit each other they interfere. There's two kinds of interference, constructive and destructive. Mostly destructive happens on the beach and is why waves crash apart to flat water. If you time it right, you can maximize the constructive interference and build the waves higher and higher
@InfiniteDoors, plus since it goes towards a single point (rather than being along a line) it amplifies it even more so when done right!
@TheWhiteWolf, True as well! I'm a chemist currently neck-deep in micro-PChem so I though of it more in an energetics sense than the incompressibility of water, but both contribute to awesome!
@InfiniteDoors, im a chem undergrad! struggling my way through orgo presently
@TheWhiteWolf, Orgo's my favorite man! Should've specified, I'm undergrad too, but a junior.
@TheWhiteWolf, god I hated Orgo. My sympathies, comrade
@Taquito Speedo, orgo depends entirely on the quality of your teacher. My sympathies if you got a bad one.
@occasionalmutant, I have a good grades in orgo, my struggle is in physics 2, men I hate that class.... :(
@blackstone21, I'll do the wave for you, and hope your grades are relatively good
@Penguin Airlines, I think this is how the female orgasm works
This should be incorporated into bidets
@CaptainCrunchyCvnt, does Poseidon's Kiss count as a bidet?
I am oddly aroused
Why did people spend so much money making this?
@Ultramatt, for science.
@CynicalSir, I'm more wondering what the ultimate goal was/is. Spending that much money to watch waves behave constructively doesn't seem like it necessitates that much of an expense, was there something larger they were trying to study
@Ultramatt, To paraphrase a wise shop rat "Sometimes you just gotta make cool shįt."
I would love to stick my dick in this thing as many times as I could before security takes me out.
@SirLordKraftDinner, in... Water?
@stillnotginger, humans are 80% water, so is it really THAT much different than sticking your dick into a woman?
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, yes, yes it is
Now we're water bending
For those of you asking why, it could be as simple as proof of concept in constructive Sine waves in a fluid medium. Or, (spitballing here) it could show the effects of what two or more Tsunami would do if they collided. If they alter the rates at which the paddles pushed the water, they could study the results of incoming waves in real time, and use that data to issue more comprehensive alerts and warnings.
Wait.. are we funding this.. just make a meme-gif.. AWESOME!!
"Your magazine, Sir!"
Thank you, James!
i'd stick my djck in it
At first looked like a giant contact lens
So who here was trying to divide by zero?
Big deal science thunder Bay at Denver water world does the same thing!
New gen wave pool?
How it feels to chew 5 gum
Looks like the boss of the water temple in Ocarina of Time
That's a really big dino
the ending is what just happened to my when I dropped a steamy one in the toilet. Beautiful cringe.
Looks expensive. I wonder what purpose it serves
