And not a crappy rehash
She also boasted how she put in some "super sneaky feminist ideas" in the plot
Honey, it was as sneaky as your makeup was in the Hunger Games
@ptitty1231, it didn’t click for me until now. She talks about female led action movies not doing good, and then amends that by claiming that super hero females do well only because of “the inherent male aspect of super heroes”, while totally discounting the wildly successful female led action movie franchise that SHE WAS IN!
My biggest regret in The Hunger Games was her not dying. Effie is such a piece of shït in those movies. Caesar also deserved worse than he got.
@I Are Lebo, "Nobody wants to see female-led, action movies!"
"Have you tried making them with a decent plot and not polarizing garbage?"
"How dare you!"
To add more salt in the wound, more women went to see the new Rambo movie when it was out than this dumpster fire. When your supposed target audience doesnt even go see your movie, maybe your idea was just crap!
@ptitty1231, there’s a new Rambo movie?
@I Are Lebo, it was Rambo: Last Blood; came around late summer I believe
@ptitty1231, it’s a pity that originality in Hollywood has been sacrificed for ca dependable sequelitis.
@ptitty1231, to be fair, why would a bunch of straight women want to see CA when they could be looking a barrel chested beef cakes? Remember, straight women love barrel chested beef cakes.
@I Are Lebo, Also ignores the fact that the original version of THE EXACT SAME FILM made $264,000,000 at the box office.
@Nellybert , right. Because the movie starring three ass kicking female leads also wasn’t feminist enough.
Straight up, some of my favorite characters in most action films are female. Aside from those mentioned here, Michelle Rodriguez from the original resident evil, Kate Beckinsale in underworld, Mila Jovovich in pretty much anything she does. Jessica Biel, in blade trinity, spends most of the film making the guys look like rank amateurs.
Point of the matter. Make your movie first, and your political statement second. To fire at marvel for the "women of marvel" montage in endgame, it just stank of a ham fisted attempt at "feminism" meanwhile, had they treated each of the female members like "any other member" they could have given a lot more voice and identity to the characters than a 50 second "girl power" montage. Scarlett witch forcing thanos to fire, perfect, captain marvel just punching through the ship, again perfect. She's a powerhouse, nuff said.
@ Tobias Widower, Mia jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez are hands down my two favorite actresses. Have an upvote
@ Tobias Widower, I dont know her name ( never paid attention to that stuff) but that chick from Mad Max Fury Road... DAMN she was a bad ass.
@SeelenVerKaufer , Charlize Theron. Shes a great actress in a lot of movies.
Here's a wild idea;
Priority 1: make a good movie
Priority 2: make a social statement
Same B.S. is being thrown around about the new Ghostbusters movie. Just stop. You're only hurting the cause that you're supposedly supporting.
Omg I watched alita this week. Bit late but I'm happy they're doing a 2nd movie.
What about Wonder woman?
@th3thrilld3m0n, isn't that her on the last panel?
Or people hate Kristen Stewart
@dshira, Kristen Stewart happy: 😐
Kristen Stewart sad: 😐
Kristen Stewart angry: 😐
Kristen Stewart playful: 😐
Kristen Stewart as a proud nonbinary: 💩
Nobody wanted a Charlie’s angels movie
(Whispers) I didn’t like Hunger Games
Atomic blond sucked
But most dudes I know enjoyed the one with Cameron Diaz, so.........
With how excited I am for Wonder Woman 1984 this statement is not true
They forgot the dinosaurs from Jurassic park
Atomic blonde and Alita we’re both awful
@lemongrenade, you shut your filthy mouth! I have know clue what Atomic Bomb is but Alita was good.
I feel like if that statement were true that reboot wouldn’t even exist
Hunger games and Alita are trash you can't change my mind. The rest are good though
Agreed minus blonde
What about Terminator 2 with one of the most badass protagonists ever? Sarah Connor is the shjt
She was IN Hunger Games. How does she ignore it being successful
Neither he nor there, but I didn’t hear a word about this movie until it was literally in the theaters. That’s not exactly good advertising. That said, I didn’t have any interest, but if it had had solid reviews... anywhere, my interest might have been peaked.
Didn’t see any commercials for it. Didn’t even know a new one came out.
