@jouze, I think people overestimate how healthy they and those around them are. This gives a false impression of unpredictability. I have seen so many people dumbfounded that their 87 year old obese diabetic mom who’s been on oxygen for 3 years died of a cold.

@Kierkegaard, depends on your body. I got it and it was just an annoying cough. My dad who is a lifetime smoker and alcoholic got it and showed no symptoms.

@Kierkegaard, Mate of mine and his wife both caught it at the same time (ok, she caught it and gave it to him) - both in their 30s, no underlying health conditions. She’s fine, he has been on a CPAP ventilator for a week after his o2 sats plummeted to around 80.

@philbert15, I did published astrophysics research at 17yo working with NASA JPL guys and a Physicist to test out the (at the time new SOFIA telescope) and I switched from philosophy (after a three year gap because I needed to figure out what I wanted to do as a career) to nursing. You can have multiple interests my guy. In fact, after I get my ASN and the hospital I work at sends me back for my BSN, I'll finish my philosophy degree because I still enjoy the subject and only have ~24cr left anyway Hell, I've been on this app long enough, you can probably find comments from when I about lost my shjt getting invited to be on that research team and I've commented about becoming a nursing student a few times on here anyway

Can relate. I was hospitalized after passing out from an asthma attack after my work made everyone wear masks. I was then fired so that I couldn’t claim workers comp for it.

This picture is probably more accurate for people that survived COVID. The husband of a friend of mine was on deaths door for a whole week when he got it, needed to be on a respirator the whole time. He’s still recovering. COVID ain’t no joke.
