@Curmudgeon, dubs are preferable if you are watching on a tv. Subtitles are distracting and too small if you are trying to watch from the couch across the room

@BearDaniels, they're also the easiest way to introduce a show. Much easier to convince someone to watch a show when there isn't required reading

I like listening to shows while playing video games, sue me. I would rather listen to mediocre voice actors than have to devote literally all of my attention to the show just to know what’s going on.

Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Hetalia, and Sgt Frog have pretty good dubs.

Most anime I'll watch sub because it comes out first and Japanese VAs tend to put a lot more emotion into their acting than English VAs. I think the two I only watch in dub are Baka and Test and Highschool of the Dead. Though I do wanna watch Highschool DxD Hero dub because apparently Koneko is an absolute savage in some scenes. Like calling Ravel a "Cvnt-ucky Fried Chicken"

Female sub voices often bother me. I'm usually willing to wait for the English VA. Now that it has more of an audience, I feel like they've gotten better too

There are quite a few shows that I have watched in both sub and dub and I can say there where I like the sub version better and some the dub and some that I enjoy both and have watched some of each more than once, enjoy the ones you want and leave the rest alone about it. My oldest daughter is a little bit of a slower reader so sub versions are difficult for her and my youngest is a quicker reader so she can do both with no issues.

Watching dubbed anime is the equivalent of watching SpongeBob in Russian. That being said, some dubbed anime is extremely well done and is at least on par with original Japanese voices.
