@dr brain, this picture is intentionally misleading. It is from Ferguson riots in May 2015. The poster has placed a clinton logo on it, falsely implying that this happened recently. It is the type of lie typical of revisionists. Here's the link: https://jtf.org/angry-ferguson-protesters-they-promised-us-5000-a-month/

@dr brain, I personally think the protests are stupid, although people have the 1st amendment right to protest (peacefully). IMHO if they wanted a different outcome, they should have gotten out more voters on election day. Now it is time to unite behind our president-elect and move forward. That is how our democracy is supposed to work.

@Deer Jesus, Media playing both sides making Trump to see the absolute worst when it may not be as bad.(and I am by no means a Trump supporter) and they are showing these protest as if they are done by the same group. The people rioting are not really apart of the black lives matter movement. Don't get me wrong some of these people say they represent black lives matter but don't know anything about the actual movement.
-
@CentaurianHalfie, i didn't use the word riot but i agree that all those participating cannot be generalized into rioutous anarchists. Honestly, most are acting out of fear. They feel attacked and threatened. These are all legitimate reasons to hold protests. My problem comes up when they are doing so with contradictory, even hypocritical messages. Not to mention they're protesing a fair election. Protest the issues, not the office
-
@KeKesUHaulFacility , i said they were no better than the man they were protesting due to both parties using hate to achieve their goals. That is also how they contradict themselves. In the example of the NY protests, protestors carried signs saying "Love Trumps Hate." The message is clear: Trump=hate. Therefore, fight him by supporting all different types of people, who he is portrayed as hateful toward. In other words, love. Yet, the same night, they marched on Trump Tower in NYC and chanted "we hate you" toward it. By doing so, they combatted Trump's hate with their own hate. They profess to fight fire with water while they actually use fire.
-
@Deer Jesus, The only way you're right is if they aren't showing love to the marginalized people that Trump attacked, and they overwhelmingly are. I can love POC, immigrants, Muslims and LGBTQ+ people and hate Trump and his supporters because they wish harm on us. That doesn't make me as bad as trump. I feel like it makes me pragmatic tbh, I'm not tryna get harassed and attacked off some "take the high road" nonsense. Do you know how dangerous it is out here for us?
-
@abecedarian, if it is good enough for the main stream media, it's good enough for FP. :-) In all seriousness, the point of the image stands, whether the pic is legit or not. The left claims to be a group of tolerance but are often the first to have violent protests or riots. This didn't happen when Obama was elected either time... Yes, the should have found a picture from Oakland or Portland from a post election riot, but it doesn't nullify the point being made. That is all I'm saying.
-
@KeKesUHaulFacility , no, i actually don't know how dangerous it is (that wasn't sarcasm, I actually don't). Regardless, you have identified a massive hole in my argument. But, please understand 99% of Trump supporters (which I am not) do not want to harm you. He won mostly for non-establishment practices, business acumen, and perceived honesty/frankness, not really for KKK support and such. He can't steal your civil rights (checks and balances ensure that) so there's no point in expecting him to do so. That being said, i understand the fear from the rhetoric disseminated to the public from various sources. My next question is this: what do these protests hope to accomplish, exactly?
-
@Deer Jesus, The point of the protests, ANY protest really, is so the afflicted can begin to be heard. To put pressure on the establishment to listen to us. You can't very well ignore 300+ people blocking a highway or a major road. And if you want to know how bad things are getting for us just look up post election harassment stories. Women are getting their hijabs ripped off, people are painting hate speech on public property, calling black people everything but children of God, it's crazy! Even if trumps hatred wasn't the reason he won, it emboldened other hate groups that seemed to be dying out. You can take someone's rights away without legislation.
-
@abecedarian, They are stupid, I live in Portland, Oregon and they've been blocking the roads and freeways the past three days. They throw crap at the police. Break storefront windows, did millions in damage to their own city, destroyed about a dozen cars from a dealership, and taunted drivers on the road. It's insane.
-
@KeKesUHaulFacility , a lot of those attacks have turned out to be made up, and their are plenty of attacks on pro Trumpers. People attack Trump for spreading hate and violence when they need to be looking in the mirror, because its the left attacking and rioting over a fair election. In some ways, the lefts madness is proving Trump right.
-
@BigfootUnibrowMan, you look it up mate, and use a non US source like bbc. There have been riots in Portland, but not "all over". And the Ferguson riots were particularly violent, and we're directed at the police. If someone is guilty of shoplifting, and the media posts a picture of a minority group holding up a store at gunpoint, that is falsely inflaming the situation. While I think the protesters are wrong, that doesn't justify over-villifying them. Trump won by a slim margin in key states, and lost the popular vote. People have a right to be upset, in a peaceful manner, but it is incumbent on both sides to support the president elect and stop looking for reasons to be divisive.
-
@Brickmasta8, thats wrong. Trump won both popular vote, and electoral. When you look it up on google, it does say that Hillary has more, but they didn't count michigan (which only says it's leaning red) maine (which is both red striped and blue striped) and new hampshire (which it says is leaning blue). This is all outdated information.

Can we just take a moment to all be grateful to our law enforcement? Those brave men and women get painted with the broadest brush, and still go out and risk their lives for people who hate them. I know that some officers have done awful things, but so have some cashiers. Or accountants. Hell, that nice guy who brought you your milkshake at Sonic last night? He might've just finished hiding a body or something. I'm still getting my halfprice shake tomorrow. But, when an officer does something, what happens? Riots. Shootings. Revenge against an uninvolved party. Let's just try to be a bit reasonable, sometime. Not trying to rant. Sorry for the long post. And to any officers (or members of our military) who read this: thank you for your service.
At this rate, the people themselves will be the downfall of this country, not the president
