I can still hear my music skipping with each step I took
@FaceGhost, you mean you didn't have a part time job just to pay for all the batteries we murdered to power anti-skip?
@FaceGhost, I think the moment we willingly purchased CD walkmans over cassette ones, the entertainment industry stopped taking us seriously.
@FaceGhost, I had an anti-skip cd/mp3 player. Could play CDs in mp3 format so it could pack waaaaay more songs on the cd and it would display the titles!
Did anyone actually have a portable CD player that could play vertically????
@megamanx181x, not well
@WhereIsPaige, well meaning it could is a huge improvement over the ones I had. Seriously I ended up carrying it horizontally in my palm just to have it work for five minutes then the batteries would die.
@megamanx181x, just used a walkman and tapes
@Dr TalleyWacker, pretty much!
@megamanx181x, mine did. It was a pretty snazzy one
@PunnyBaker, lucky you
@megamanx181x, that looks like the CD player I had in high school. It had a read ahead function that did a great job preventing most skipping.
I would go running with it and had no problems.
@JDPhi, I’m jealous
I still keep cds in my car and me and my brother used to play cards and dice as kids but we didn’t think it was right to take money from each other so instead the loser would have to buy the movie at blockbuster that Friday and it was usually always a swartzeneggar movie I still have like 30 of his movies on vhs that we bought from blockbuster
My buddy Nick’s family had the Internet. We’d spend a good 20, 35 minutes trying to log onto AOL just to chat with what we hoped were girls. If his parents got a phone call, we’d be logged off and have to start it all back up again.
Feel old yet?
@seeUpee, every time I look at my blockbuster bought copy of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.
@seeUpee, i remember getting a cd player with a radio built in. I thought i was a god for like a month. I only had to carry around like 4 good CDs
@robee, when the players with the USB came out I was beyond excited
@seeUpee, life changing
Shoutout to BBV#39031
Laying in bed, listening to music on the Discman, the player would skip if I slightly moved my leg or something.
I still have and use #1 in my car
And that connection sound...
I was about to be “ well i know and used all that stuffs” but then realized im 20
@kdogzzs, correction i watched my Grandma use AOL as a kid, and played that weird elf bowling game on the computer
Disc tech is still current.
Either children are trying a bit too hard to feel special these days or ADD is starting to affect memory.
