Terry Pratchett certainly had a way with words.
@Marida Cruz, he's my favourite author ever. I'm so happy that you even mentioned him. Wish more people knew about him and his genius writing.
@Marida Cruz, Sir Terry Pritchett has the sharp wit and satire of Shakespeare, with all the added benefits of being readable.
@Marida Cruz, he's the father of modern fantasy, absolute genius.
@Fallen227, I think his books are the best
@A pet named Steve, Lucky for you more people will know about his works with the upcoming amazon original.
@A pet named Steve, which book to start with?? Have been balls deep in Brandon Sanderson and Patrick rothfuss - time to expand!
@Murphlins, aw man there are so many to choose from. I recommend starting with the first book of the Discworld series. While most of them can be read I independently, it's nice to have Context. The more books of the series you read and the more lore you know, the better they get. A less humorous series, but not any less genius, is The Long Earth and the following books. But yeah. I'd recommend Disc World.
@A pet named Steve, Ok, but which book is this quote from? I would like to read about the miserable jingler
@Murphlins, do a search for Discworld reading order. As there are different parts of the series,(The Watch, The Witches, Death etc.),some recommend reading these in their individual orders.
Also, The colour/color of magic and The light fantastic are very different to the later books.
@jcmatanui204, that book is Wyrd Sisters. It’s the second book in the witches series but the first one, Equel Rites, is a stand alone book which only features Granny Weatherwax. Wyrd Sisters starts the Lancre Coven off.
@DandyZombie35, you should’ve expanded for those that don’t know yet.
Good Omens, by Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. With an all star cast headed up by David Tennant as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale. A series covering all of history from the Garden of Eden to the end of the world.
Release date, 31st of May.
@A pet named Steve, @That one lurker, alright, you guys sold me on it. It is now being shipped to my house
@jasontype40, good choice!! But remember, the first two books are different from the rest of the Discworld series. But just as good haha. Have fun reading!
How do you jingle across the floor?
Thought that said “come hitler, fool”... was very confused
@Kremits, me too, it was better
Did he jingle all the way over
