My favorite thing to do with my friends we all do a Chinese firedrill at a light and switch bikes
@captnmerica, dangerous and idiotic
@Prestidigitonium, every party has a pooper
@SqurtieMan, that's why they invited you..
@Prestidigitonium, hey how'd you know my middle names?!
I thought an advantage to riding a motorcycle was to weave your way around this stuff but glad to see hes taking a positive approach nonetheless
@AngeredSportsFan, in the majority of Us states it is very illegal to lane split.
@AngeredSportsFan, *state farm Comercial dude* "well those guys are arseholes, so."
@AngeredSportsFan, as mentioned it is super illegal and super dangerous. I've almost been hit so many times just riding a lane normally i couldnt imagine the risk of splitting lanes
@ Abnormal Fiber, it is allowed in Europe, only when the speed is lower than 30 km/h (about 20 mi/h) and when the speed diference is below 20. So it is not dangerous at all. It gets dangerous when people do when traffic is moving, because that is when cars start to shift lanes.
@Confused Pineapple, but in california it is not! We actually just passed a law that allows us to regulate lane splitting 😅
@Confused Pineapple, in California if traffic is going slower than 25 mph you can split lanes but you can't go faster than 25
@ Abnormal Fiber, Watched some asshole squeeze on the right side (of the same lane) of a bike trying to make a right turn a few days ago.
@ Abnormal Fiber, Not to mention all the times I've almost been killed on one. And I only have a few months of seat time.
@BIessthefaII, watched some idio1t attempt a lane split on Hwy 80, he was going around 70, his helmut hit the driver mirror on a semi truck that was lower than he thought ( I assumed). He almost fell for about 400 yard's after. I was laughing my ass off. I live in CA as well.
@Gollum Fetish, not to sound like a djck but that's probably why you've almost been killed so many times. I've been riding on the street every day for 3 years in snow, rain, sandstorms etc and I very rarely have close calls. And I'm in an area with a driving record that rivals LA. You learn what to look for and where to be and it drastically reduces your chances of collision. Keep learning though and you'll definitely improve your skillset.
@AngeredSportsFan, It should be illegal period. I freak out everytime I'm stuck on bad traffic and a biker zips by dangerously close between cars.
@RustyFapwagon, See, I live in a rural area, which can be worse. You never know when you're gonna have a cow or deer come out in front of you. Also the 55 zones that are littered with blind driveways. Had one guy almost clip my friend's back tire switching lanes.
@Gollum Fetish, rural areas have different threats that you have to look for and different lane positioning tactics that you should follow. Roadcraft Nottingham on YouTube has some really good advice. They're out of the UK but they can really help you understand the fundamentals of lane positioning and commuting.
@RustyFapwagon, I learned from my uncle who has probably around 500,000 miles on a motorcycle. The only reason I'm alive is because of the practice and lessons. By close calls, I'm talking situations that would have been fatal had I not known how to handle/prevent them.
@RustyFapwagon, You can stare at a cornfield for as long as you want, but you can't see that deer until it's jumping out.
@Confused Pineapple, doesnt the purchase of a street bike come with the title of "bad boy"?
@BIessthefaII, yeah I know. I said it's illegal in the majority of states, not all.
I live in California, and I'm not a fan of lane splitting.
@AngeredSportsFan, only in California, cuz our state is awesome!
@Confused Pineapple, it's only illegal if you get caught
@Gollum Fetish, you're wrong. And I've ridden further than your uncle in the last 2 years.
@Gollum Fetish, and if you can't tell, I'm fvcking with you in that last comment. Lol but you apparently know everything about motorcycles because your uncle rode them once so you know that already.
That's what I would do if I had a motorcycle
@OneHellOfAButler, mostly because I have very short legs
@OneHellOfAButler, haha Imagining it now.
How to entertain yourself in traffic
