He's probably reformed and wants to stop potential rapists from doing what he did, and also warn others of what to look out for
@SimonPetrikov, I've seen it and that's the general message.it happened when they were both drunk teenagers. They basically talked it out for almost 10 years and decided to spread the message of prevention and responsibility.
@Commander Peanuts, I mean if they were both drunk why is he the rapist
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, by a brief description like that you're right. If you hear them talk about it it makes sense and he knows he was. Basically even though they were both drunk he forced himself on her with no provocation whatsoever.
@Commander Peanuts, ah thanks for the synopsis, that makes more sense but I wasn't surprised because I have heard of those types of cases and it's ridiculous
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, because sex is rape without consent and she didn't give consent.
@Prestidigitonium, in the comment that didn't give full context both parties were drunk and without information that said the guy forced himself on her we are left with the conclusion that they both had sex while intoxicated which means that neither party technically consented so there would have to be an investigation if either or both parties pressed charges considering that rape doesn't only involve a man as the prime suspect
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, I'm pretty sure the word "rape" gives you what you need to know. Drunk or not someone had sex against their will.
@Prestidigitonium, without knowing that he forced himself on her how would you be sure that it wasn't the girl who initiated sex, which would result in the man being raped
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, given that the picture says "her rapist" I can probably guess that the man wasn't raped in this case
@Prestidigitonium, correct, and with commander peanuts first comment it sounded like both parties had an equal part in being drunk and only the guy was charged but after further explanation it is clear that in this particular case the man is guilty
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, I don't see how you ever thought differently
@Prestidigitonium, alright guy, I saw cpt peanuts first comment and connected it to the picture and came to the conclusion that the man was charged as a rapist even though they were both drunk and neither consented considering they both weren't in the right frame of mind but since there is a strong stigma that men are always the rapists he was considered guilty and sought to make the best of that situation and agreed to speak out with the woman who accused him. I clearly didn't have all the facts but seeing as this type of injustice has happened I wouldn't be surprised if that was actually what happened. Get it now?
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, so if someone raped you anally while they were drunk you'd be cool with that yeh? Not a rapist- no? K
@rubyrubyrubyruby, what the actual fvck are talking about, where in my argument did you get the idea that I am ok with rape, please point it out because at this point you are simply talking out of your ass
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, I was wondering when one of my uploads would cause a heated debate.....
....*starts masturbating furiously*
@MrJojo, one hell of a mission accomplished man lol
@TORGUE FLEXINGTON, going back to the original comment, it was stated that he did continue on with the sex even though she did not give him any consenting signal. It doesn't matter that he was drunk or that she was drunk, what matters is that his actions translated into him giving HIS consent. Her actions translated in her NOT giving her consent. I know there's cases where the men haven't consented but those are rare. The truth is that it is really hard for a woman to rape a man (that is not anally) without his consent because... well.... It's very clear when a man consents.
Background: they were dating and they had sex when she didn't want to
@non dik bong, yes because if you're dating someone it immediately means that they can't rape you because you're dating
@SixMargheritaPizzas, I'm not saying that I'm just explaining why she's standing next to her rapist. If people don't know the story they'd be pretty confused as to why she's even in the same room as him.
@SixMargheritaPizzas, there's a huge difference between that and a complete stranger jumping from a bush....... and into another :D okay bad taste :(
Why if both parties are drunk. It's the man who committed the rape?
@libertarianlife, whoever didn't consent was raped
@alejdran, very good explanation
@alejdran, You can't consent if you're drunk
@alejdran, can't you not consent if you're drunk... so couldn't both parties argue they were raped?
@ajr12100, in other cases, yes, if both parties are drunk and 'consent' to have sex under the influence, the consent doesn't count and they've technically raped each other. in this case however, she did not even give drunken consent, he forced himself upon her, according to another commenter.
@Ruupasya, well I don't know anything about this case, but out of curiosity- what would happen in court if both parties filed rape cases for the same event? Assuming they were both drunk, would the court find them both guilty, or just be like "well, you both raped each other so guess you're even"
@ajr12100, I mean i'm pretty sure the law is that if you wanted to have sex and did, then it's not rape, regardless of drug influence.
@Doctor Walrus, I know of rape cases where guys have been convicted because of a girl is drunk and says yes to sex she didn't actually consent and it's rape
@ajr12100, that's pretty stupid, imo. A guy can be blamed for rape even if the person says yes and they're aware of it?
@Doctor Walrus, well the idea is if they're on drugs they aren't aware, which I think is absolutely retarded because they chose to drink or do drugs- but that's the way it works right now
@ajr12100, damn that sucks. Oh well, another kink to work out.
@Doctor Walrus, a lot of states, like California and Arizona, would convict both parties with rape, BUT if one party says it was forceful rape and not "date" rape then they'll only convict the forceful rape. It tends to lead to women who are upset that they had drunken sex to say it was forceful as a way get vindication
@ajr12100, the court would either dismiss the case or convict the man
Because if you're a woman the court is statistically biased towards you
That's a great video about respecting women. Find it on Ted.com it's a story about how a young couple get into a bad situation and it changes their relationship with other people. He admits to raping her while they dated as teens and many years later meet up to overcome it, since they both felt haunted by the memory.
"So, how'd y'all two meet?"
"Well, funny story actually..."
Repost and reposter tell their story
@Racist Arab, I'm guessing she almost died from getting raped
@Under The Gloves , technically anything that happened to you on the past, you are a survivor of. For example, I am a marching band survivor.
@Robin the Tactician, Ah gotcha, thank you my good Tactician
@Robin the Tactician, I survived 9/11 it's a good thing I lived many states away from New Yorkshire
@Racist Arab, a lot of rapes end in murder, dead people can't tell anyone
@Robin the Tactician, the marching band is just biding its time. waiting for you to be vunerable before it strikes again.
@Robin the Tactician, I'm a survived naptime....but I didn't want to
@Robin the Tactician, I survived my calculus test I didn't study for
@Racist Arab, if anything traumatic happens, you are considered a survivor of that thing. if the thing can cause PTSD, you a survivor of that thing.
@Robin the Tactician, I used to watch a tv show about people voting each other off an island... so I guess I'm a Survivor survivor.
I think it's a bit of a stretch to call those women survivors.
@Bear Archer, I mean, some of them commit suicide or end up in the streets?
This was very powerful. You should check it out.
This is just.... Wow..
