40+ hours with mandatory overtime
@megamanx181x, by mandatory overtime do you mean having all your coworkers call off all the time and you are apparently the only one who can cover them. Cause I got that in spades
@voided sanity, man that’s fvcked up. For me it’s being salary and even though I can complete my work under eight hours and an responsible to not need supervision but because everyone else must stay late I have to as well to be a team player
@megamanx181x, commission paid 50+ hour sales weeks, but I labor and don't only do sales
@megamanx181x, mandatory unpaid overtime
@I Are Lebo, that combination of words should be illegal
@megamanx181x, my last job wasnt mandatory overtime technically but if you didnt work 50+ you might find yourself getting move to a lower paying position.
edit: I wasnt let go, just found a better paying job working less hours
@I Are Lebo, such bs
@Muscular Rooster, that’s horse shvt and glad you found something better, feels like extortion
@I Are Lebo, That sounds like slavery with extra steps.
@I Are Lebo, thats illegal.
@BlazingBowman, remember kids. Everything is legal if there are no cops around!
We exist in a cultural framework
As someone who works 70+ hrs a week every week. I can confirm I'm ready for Batman to kick my arse.
Cocaine looks to be the best option
@seeUpee, well I can tell you 40hrs is no good.
But, I love going to work...
@MMSieBreeze, I’m jealous
@seeUpee, you should be...i not only get to tear down and rebuild vehicles all day every day, i also work with some of the most amazing guys ive ever met...no homo. One guy and his wife are the reason im a homeowner now. She is a mortgage loan financier and they are both good with finances....helped me out more than i can thank them for.
@MMSieBreeze, congrats on been a home owner! That is the American dream!... that is pretty cool. So you work in a body shop? I do the same but with houses
@seeUpee, nah, ive never done body work...wouldnt mind learning though. Im the guy that fixes the electrical/mechanical issues
though, having what others describe as supersonic hearing, i unfortunately specializse in noises...creaks rattles pops...you name it and im the guy they get to look at it...
@MMSieBreeze, otherwise im uaeless...because i cant even fix a flux capacitor....go figure xD
@MMSieBreeze, very, very nice... but wouldn’t it be a headache to work specially on electrical issues with these modern cars? I can just see this customer explaining what kind of noises the car is making and you having to figure it out. I’m pretty intrigued at what you do for a living. Love cars and have five of them myself. Do all the work to them myself, a mechanic hasn’t touched my babies since I was 16. Will say I was having an issue with my Benz ML350 and ended up been a sensor making one of the air suspension shocks not work properly. Took me weeks to figure it out. I got rid of that vehicle so quickly. Why do Germans have to overly engineer everything?
@seeUpee, you have no idea...there was a time that mercedes owned chrysler and we still use sone of their tech...it was a dark period lmao...as for your suspension issue id guess it was a ride height sensor on that particular side...we havent had too many issues with the sensors more problems with the pumps and the cheaply made plastic lines. Noises are extremely hard to specialize in because a customer(most in fact) can have multiple noises in the vehicle but theirs ears only hear 1 of them due to the frequency. Its really hard to discern which one they are actually hearing and try to deal qith it because everyones hearing is different. There are also a lot of occasions where the noise they are hearing is completely normal and is not an issue(as in it can only ve fixed by buying a different vehicle).
@seeUpee, glad you do your own work...just hope you dont rely to much on forums and youtube videos...cant tell you how many people try to fix their shjt via youtube and forums and just completely fvck up their vehicle...then they want their fvck ups covered under warrenty and get pissed off when we tell them they voided it by trying to fix it.
@MMSieBreeze, I do remember those days with Chrysler. Have had two Chrysler Crossfire and both fantastic vehicles... of course everything from engine to transmission was a Benz. Both times had to sell it bc that car loved to eat tires. Ahahah hey man, those forums have saved my butt more than once! But I enjoy finding what is wrong with cars. So what is the most complicated car you worked on? I had a Jaguar last year and never again!!!! Biggest piece of crap!!!
@seeUpee, lmao! Crossfires are ass...theyre fun to drive...not as fun to work on...especially the convertables...in order to figure out where the fault was...you had to use binary code to figure out which mode it was in...there were like 10 modes andif one was in-op in several modes it was a nightmare...there are 5 sensors in the header switches alone....and as for most complicated issue ive ever worked on...it was like an 06 wrangler(again most complicated issue not vehicle) with the ac button not working(i think...its been a few years) everything checked out...literally every piece of data i looked at was correct. All of the curcuits ohmed amd load tested. Ran all new circuits for everything and replaced the ac control head....nothing....for some reason the command from the control head went to the cluster than bussed out from there....everything was good...i had a hunch that the cluster was doing screwy things but i was never approved to replace it...
@MMSieBreeze, even our so called hekp line was useless....they basically told me to do everything i had already done...never figured it out...customer got pissed off and took the vehicle...
@MMSieBreeze, the only thing i can think of is that the cluster itself was doing something screwy...but thats an expensive gamble lmao
@MMSieBreeze, the only issue I had with the last Crossfire was that it ran a little hot. I also had this issue with an 01 ML320 and since they had the same engine I just figured that is how it was. The first Crossfire had the six speed manual and that transmission did not pair well with that engine at all, second was automatic and wow, what a difference even tho it had one less gear. Wow man a Jeep Wrangler as the most complicated issue? They they are by far the most fun vehicle to drive. The Jeep wave is freaking so much fun! I had a 2000 TJ just like that 06 and now that you mention it I had a problem with my AC but all it had was a bad low pressure switch. Just so I know which is the best less complicated car out there you worked on? Camry? Accord?
@seeUpee, havent done much on either. Primarily work of chrysler stuff.
40 hour work week, I remember my first part time job
40 hour work week +14 hour weekly commute
Is this saying 40 hours is a joke or that its difficult?
@BlazingBowman, Both probably. And that it leads to gradually worsening mental health.
@Link Silverblade, dude i work a 40 hour workweek 10 hours a day plus overtime. My mental health is fine.
@BlazingBowman, I'm just interpreting the picture.
@Link Silverblade, ye i understand that.
Hehehehehe 40 hour work week 😆 I worked 97.5 2 weeks ago
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, What are you a doctor or something?
About to finish up my 63 hour work week
