Haha truest one there is
Remember, if you don’t like something just don’t by the product.
@Dimir FTW, But then I can’t have all of the newest stuff. I would much rather complain about how terrible companies are while giving them all my money.
@Fuggles, I welcome our new Google overlords
@Dimir FTW, ok, but riddle me this... where do I work my manufactured outrage into “not buying the products”?
@Fuggles, About 12 years ago, were you in an Apple focus group by any chance?
@Dimir FTW, except that might make the problem worse. At least when it comes to products produced through slavery
@Dimir FTW, it sort of works. Just look at EA's stocks compared to what they were at the beginning of 2018.
@Dimir FTW, the hardest part about this is sometimes you don’t like a specific part of a product, and not buying the product doesn’t tell the company what part you don’t like. So ultimately people make the compromise of dealing with it. It just sucks the only way to send a message to a company with much impact it to hurt their business by not buying their products at all.
@Johnny Karate, how? If they cant pay their " workers" ( sure nike 10cents an hour workers 😂) then the " workers" leave.
@BlazingBowman, I’m sorry I can’t really tell what you’re trying to argue. Are saying that the slaves will just leave?
@Johnny Karate, because they arnt technically slaves. They basically are but theyre not there at gun point they do go home at night. There is no reason for them to continue to work for a company that doesnt pay them.
@BlazingBowman, no I’m talking about literal slavery which very much does still exist. The cocoa industry is run by it, child slavery is the backbone of the carpet industry. There is still slavery.
@Johnny Karate, slavery is technically illigal throughout the world. ( thx to europe and america) Dont get me wrong making them work for 12 hours in hot fields for maybe at best a dollar an hour is exploitative and essentially slavery but theyre not forced to be there.
@BlazingBowman, ok, watch “slavery: a global investigation”. It’s a documentary about how literal slavery (no I don’t mean 12 hours in a field) is still happening. These are people stolen from their homes or tricked into coming and not allowed to leave. They are either forced to stay through fear of violence or actual violence. Their have also been cases of American diplomats who tell young women that they’ll bring them to America to be maids and they’ll let them go to school in return but instead they’re bullied and abused into never leaving the house. I know what slavery is, and it still exists.
@Johnny Karate, dont have to just looked it up. Apparently i was wrong atleast in certain circumstances ( no idea how prevalent it is havent gotten to that part in the article if its there at all) children are held as slaves in the most litteral interpretation of the definition possible. Pretty shocking stuff. Come complete with whips and beatings. Though im sure they use legalese to claim it isnt.
@Johnny Karate, also want to state that the article i read was very old. I dont know what success theyve had in the last odd decade.
@BlazingBowman, oh definitely. Some people are tricked into signing “contracts” saying that it’s not slavery, when it totally is. I’m glad I was able to show you that yes, slavery does indeed still exist. And it is worsened when people arbitrarily boycott products. It just drops the market value, worsening slaves conditions. Also, not much progress has been made. Read more into it, and definitely watch that documentary.
Cough cough Gillette ad. Or as I would dub it the pretend progressivism hasn't infested the market and is slowly killing the things people used to enjoy commercial.
@M0RT0S, What was it people enjoyed that they killed?
@Jdrawer, certain game companies have killed off their franchises, gilletes a shaving products company who will lose to their competition due to them not understanding the main portion of people who would buy from them, movies such as the news star wars films of late had some of the most blatantly poor script writing in the history of the series of movies and disney and the media would slander people who didn't like it as sexist or racist.
@M0RT0S, if you really think that then you are sexist or racist
@Orlandude, oof, ouchy mama. I'm deadarino.
@M0RT0S, Gillette was already losing market share to cheaper razors that deliver. I’ve been pretty convinced they’re doing this so they can at least keep the share for sjw’s at least.
@BigJohnson86, how much of the population are sjws. I find it hard to believe that there are enough to make it worth ostracizing their center right, conservative, far right, and some center left consumer base.
@BlazingBowman, idk what it is but it’s greater than 0. They’re losing market share to the mail order services fairly quickly and this might keep them from bankruptcy
@BigJohnson86, well i think we can assume atleast the majority of the womens march would be a loyal base from them to extract from so thats a couple million out of the 312 million. That wouldnt be all of them but its a start to the numbers. And recently they managed to elect a few to positions in the government soo do with that as you may.
"how dare these capitalists take advantage of people. I'm gonna start a line of t-shirts with anti capitalism slogans and sell them to make a profit"
If it works you should leave it alone
Not alot we can do from this side. As far as i can tell the chocolate corporations dont directly own these farms they just purchase the cocoa from them. Any change needs to be made from the local government and their people.
Anytime someone uses the term “woke” to describe themselves, I automatically assume they’re fûcking retarded and part of the problem.
Everyone hates capitalism until they start planning for retirement
Dont break the illusion, you'll shatter the foundation.
