@Green Blue Panda, as for c, given that for b the portal would remain stationary this implies that the length of the rod is fixed (obviously) so when the portal was shifted the visible section of the rod would remain in its place where it already is, once the portal is moved the rod would either be pushed out the sideways one due to gravity or remain stationary against the floor. Given that the rods length is still fixed the former "ends" would be in the middle and new "ends" would be formed as splitting a metal rod is a relatively easy to "break" the "middle" of the rod (no atomic level changes) (yes I'm sure this is old just thought I'd contribute)

Prepare to be jealous and down vote me. The ring still is the same length no matter what you do... And because it's length is the same... The portal would only be able to keep the lengths the same at that specific distance. What the portal is is a theoretical imaginary ring... Are kind of on but not the other at the same time. I have two theories... One, it should create a portal lock, making where one can place the portals very specific and offers few spots where the portals are just the right length. Portals vanish as moved... And it would get trapped in the portals. The portal energy in gunmight gain mass, making unstable quantum particles, to make the atoms unstable and decay. In the issue of angles, o would imagine the shape instead of coming out of the portal straight, it would go to the left right up and down parallel to the portals rather than perpendicular like usuall. If side by side, but since barier, make the ring physically a ring without bending it mechanically
A: it would accelerate until it reaches terminal velocity B: it would be like having to objects attached to a regular rod; the objects cannot come closer together without altering the rod. C: either the portal gun would not be able to create another portal or the rod would break. Carry on with your pooping now.
