@Fearless Fapper, Hopefully it's just friendly jokes. I'm American and find this whole thing ridiculous. There's no reason we need to be dropping 22,000lb bombs... I try to stay out of the drama as much as I can, but I hate when America is labeled as a whole group of one view when really its the same as every other country where some aren't as gun loving (no I'm not anti-gun either...). Not into the peace movement and all that, I just think this whole thing is a bunch of BS that's making America hated more and more, which makes me sad.

@XxNHLxX, The thing is, the majority of your country voted for a dangerous man. Some of You don't want to see it, but he really act like a kid with his toy. You desperately need to show everyone you're the best like a teen with 0 self-confidence. Trump doesn't give a single fvck about the earth and human. He doesn't show any emotion when he kill innocent mom, dad and children in orient, never apologize when he does a mistake, and cannot live with someone with a different opinion than his, he want to destroy any competition, that's not how democracy works and that's definitely not how you make everyone happy.
-
@XxNHLxX, Try fixing all the corruption, the conspiracy theories, the racism, the gun shooting, the warmongering, the hate spreading, the civil war between the left and right, stop stealing ressources in orient, stop the millions of double standards, fix your own country and after this you'll be allowed to teach others. MAGA for real, You guys need a real revolution because your swamp is just getting some brand new psychopaths.

@Fearless Fapper, I totally agree with you. This country is doing the opposite of advancing under Trump. I honestly don't think he ever wanted to really be president as much as just run and do well enough to say that he could have won without actually having the responsibility of it all. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump isn't in office for his full term, there's already enough evidence with Russian connections that they could impeach him. Granted Pen isn't a great backup plan, but he's better than Trump himself. It's really sad that this country voted for him. The "Kanye 2020" this started as a bit of a joke, but I seriously think he'd do somewhat well and in the end do nothing more than take good votes and hand it to someone else. I love this country, but man it's tough with the way it's been going these past few years. Trump will definitely be a part of history forever now, but it will be in a bad way. Whatever stupid things his country does, I apologize in advance... :(

@Can yew knot, maybe not exactly why, but having an administration that isn't scared to fight helps. China already cut off coal exports to North Korea and with Trump telling them to take care of North Korea, or we will, China doesn't want things to escalate. Plus we have an armada that was sent over there to provide a presence.
-
@Scottles, Mutually assured destruction only works if every party operates logically and with forethought. Trump dropped an 11 ton bomb onto a series of tunnels. Russia is fully prepared to fight America, tooth and nail, for the past 60-70 years of lukewarm conflict. And China has been sent a very clear message that Trump is not their fan at all. In addition to this, Russia is pushing for conflict with America, and has been for the past 10 years.
-
@UmActually, "Trump" didn't drop anything. Despite what people think, presidents don't micromanage wars or operations. I bet the first time Trump heard about the big bomb was in the news. Russia and China are not going to fire nukes, because while they are aggressive, they know they don't stand a chance against our military and not crazy enough to commit global suicide. Factor in China knows an economic embargo would be devasting to their economy, not going to happen. Now North Korea? They might, they be crazy.
-
@Oujosh29, 1. Of course not, but major decisions, like the first deployment of the MOAB, have a level of presidential oversight. 2. Military action means nothing if the war goes nuclear. 3. The embargo would be hobbled by the uptick in Russo-Chinese trade that would be inevitable in a war scenario. China would be fine in that case. 4. Agreed.
-
@UmActually, 1) dropping a bomb in a war zone, even a big bomb, isn't something a president will care about. 2) it won't go nuclear, neither are suicidal. 3) the Russian economy is a fraction of ours and is in bad shape because of sanctions but mostly oil prices. Russia wouldnt be able to do anything to help the Chinese economy if the US cuts imports.
-
@Oujosh29, 1. It's quite obvious that you have little to no background in civics. Major military actions are offered to the president to approve as a mainly symbolic gesture. 2. It wouldn't be suicide if they are fast. Besides, China has the most advanced military in the world, and Russia has the largest. Together, they'd be a terrible opponent to face. 3. Russia's import needs can be covered by China's exports, especially if China refuses to export to us. Also, China manufactures nearly all American military vehicles and computer hardware.
-
@UmActually, 1) lol, ok. It's a bomb, that's it, that's not a major military action. Presidents aren't briefed on stuff that specific. Even if he was, Trump didn't order it, the military did. 2) Not sure where you are getting your info. The U.S. by FAR has the most advanced military. The Chinese has the largest in terms of soldiers, which is meaningless in today's warfare. Russia isn't even worth mentioning anymore. 3) Russia would need to cover 500 billion of export. That's half their economy. No, Russia couldn't cover sh*t. China doesn't manufacture our military vehicles or hardware, that's all done in country. Know the military defense complex the left always whines about? That's where the military gets it's stuff.
-
@Oujosh29, 1. This was the largest non-nuclear bomb EVER dropped. 2. Not true. China has the most advanced military technology. Russian still has incredible numbers, and both have formidable hacker networks. 3. That's largely because of the embargos. A Russia and China alliance during wartimes would definitely be enough to support themselves and their allies. Also, China manufactures most of our imports. 4. The "military defense complex" in America is mainly design, not manufacturing, individual parts, as well as most assembly, occurs in other countries, especially China. In addition, China manufactures almost every motherboard in military computers, and most civilian motherboards, processors, RAM sticks and coolant fans.
-
@UmActually, 1) and? Its a big bomb, whoppie do. Even if Trump was notified, he didn't order it. 2) this is just factually false. China is still trying to play catch up with the US in terms of their military, and while they've made good strides by stealing US tech, they aren't advanced as the US. That's a fact. Russia is big enough to be a regional power, but that's it. They aren't a threat to the US. 3) no, they won't. Economies cant just buy stuff out of thin air, they have to have the capital to do it. Russia does not have enough capital to buy half their GDP to cover what China would lose. The Chinese economy would tank and there's nothing Russia could do for it. China does build most of our imports, and while it'll suck for a while, other countries will gladly begin taking over the export business and well be fine. China however will not be fine. 4) no, the military defense complex designs AND builds our equipment. Our tanks, planes, humvees, etc.? All built in the US. Ammo too.
-
@Can yew knot, terrifyingly I think it would actually make it an even match due to our nation's number advantage and geographical positioning to those opposed. We'd be fighting with Canada against China in the Pacific and Russia in Alaska and the other nations would be fighting Russian forces in Europe.
-
@Brosiedon, It's not hyperbole they have around 12 ships that are destroyer or larger. Plus no ship or missile that Russia has is going to "do some serious damage" To any US Carrier Strike Group. The carrier itself has enough radar and planes to take out any target that gets within striking distance of any missile. And if something did somehow get close enough, the carrier has enough anti-missile missiles to blow any missile down long before hitting the carrier. And then you've got the escort Destroyers with enough firepower to take down every missile Russia has. Each. Each CSG is such overkill a single one could probably take on Russia's navy alone and win.
-
@Captain Swordsman, Right, of course, missiles just get shot out of the sky almost every day. Especially ones radar can barely detect, or move too fast, or too unpredictably, designed specially to engage land-to-sea at extreme ranges from varying mobile locations. Honestly, look it up some of the military tech out there - offense overpowered defense almost in every niche. Besides, with American ships hitting only 23 out of 59 missiles on stationary, non-moving, defenseless sovereign Syrian territory, chances are they're gonna have quite the trouble hitting something their own size.
I'm just as surprised as the next guy that Syria is against Syria being bombed.
