@BigJohnson86, I mean if the police present had shown they had no interest in stopping rioters who already successfully breached a federal building and they had called you out specifically as a target and You were confined to a location they could get to within minutes, you would be stupid to not make the logical conclusion you were in danger.
-
@SteveTheAlpaca, you do know she was in a different building right? You can’t tell normal people that you think you’re about to die because people broke into a building down the street. You say they had no interest in stopping them? Did you see all the people with guns drawn defending the capitol building? They were undermanned to be certain but your argument is disingenuous at best. You also forget the part where she is literally the only person in that area freaking out. If the danger was so great and imminent why was no one else like sing it? Or maybe just maybe she had a MASSIVE overreaction either because she is a drama queen, an idiot, or trying to score sympathy and/or political points.

@jouze, "we just evacuated the capital" I may be wrong, but this was the phrase that, I believe, everyone is talking about. If this was hurt tweeting out the location, shouldn't this be lauded as her trying to protect the state capitol building? If the rioters goal was to get to the politicians, then saying the politicians aren't there signals they've failed. Which should demoralize them and send them packing. You know, if in fact they were listening to her in the first place for the politicians locations. Also, they was evacuating because of a bomb threat, an hour before they got passed the barricades. And resumed session like 10 minutes later. Only truly being evacuated once the capital was properly breached. The bombs in question was at the Republican and Democrat hq offices. The closest of which to AOC why is roughly equal distance from her to the Capitol Building proper. She's controlled opposition, to get the plebeians to start fighting again, since they were uniting over $gme.
-
@CocoasBro, aoc's the controlled opposition. Ilhan Omar it's just an anti-semite that believes in the abolition of Israel. She's consistent. AOC on the other hand isn't going to be making a trip down to the border to look at it empty car lot again. Cuz it's now Joe Biden who opened up the juvenal detention camps and not the orange man. As for the reason why I called her controlled opposition, it's because she's an avatar of left-wing populism. The "Progressive" movement. She's a boogeyman to scare the right and moderate Democrats into not supporting "progressives." Killing cows cause they're farting, rebuilding every single home in America, everyone getting guaranteed jobs but if they don't want to work they get paid anyway. All under the umbrella of a green new deal*. One's a massive racist The other thinks you need the wisdom of Indian chiefs to heal the land from the scares whity marded it with. So I understand the confusion.
-
@jouze, it turns out she wasn't actually in danger, but she's still acting like she was. A normal person would say something like, "i thought i was in danger, but turns out i got scared over nothing", not "oh my god, you're totally acting like abusers by not sympathizing with me when they tried to kill me. Ted Cruz, you're one of the people that tried to get me killed".
-
@That one lurker, I mean the entire progressive movement is every ism imaginable by virtue of their idealogy. I just remember Hearing that about Illhan and not cortez. That and Illhan married her own brother in order to get him into the country, and she cucked her husband during this relationship with her boyfriend.

No one gets to tell her how to process her trauma. Sure may well have thought that rioters were in her building. I'd be jumpy if a uniformed officer sternly knocked, entered and escorted me out of my workplace. Especially knowing that trump was stirring sheet up and rallying his dopey but armed followers.
-
@agentaquamarine, Ummm yeah we do. She’s an elected official publicly posting her thoughts. She does get to be criticized for them. When everyone around you is calm and you’re acting like you’re about to die you get to be mocked for it. No one else on her floor was panicking. Just her. It means she’s either being over dramatic or she’s an idiot. I’ve never seen a movie where that one person freaks out then gets slapped and told to calm down get sympathy. Until now

@Thone09, Snopes is definitely a facts only resource and would never spin anything. The article (written by Bethania Palma, a leftwing journalist who has had to retract her biased articles before) literally says “mostly false” and then goes on to admit AOC was nowhere near the danger. Very confusing fact-check there Bethania.
-
@Snarfel Burger, the article explains what her actual claim was. She never claimed she was in harm's way in the capitol building, she was talking about how essentially PTSD from prior trauma caused the event that she did experience in her office to be terrifying. So when people are like "she said she was there, but she wasn't!" They're basically agreeong with AOC but are too focused on hating her to realize it.
-
@Snarfel Burger, how do you feel about poltifact then? Probably bad and totally not strictly because it goes against what you feel. Idk who but some guy makes a point that facts don’t care about your feelings. I wonder who. https://www.politifact.com/article/2021/feb/04/ask-politifact-where-was-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-/
-
@Thone09, that fact check is one of the worst I have ever seen. The claim “she wasn’t even in the capitol building” is labeled “mostly false” only for the author to confirm that she indeed never was in the capitol building. Additionally, the author never points out the important clarification that no rioters ever entered the building she was in. It’s perfectly true to say what she experienced with the capitol police officer was traumatic, but she seems to playing it up for political points, as is especially evident with her attack on Cruz about “trying to have her murdered.”
-
@SteveTheAlpaca, You’re right, “facts don’t care about your feelings” and Snopes, Politifact, and other “fact-checkers” are not really known for actual facts. Lol. They get a few stuff right, but unfortunately they all have such a crappy track record that we now have actual journalists devoted to “fact-checking the fact-checkers”

@slug111, Why should we believe her about her “prior trauma”? She also made the absolute biggest deal about some congressman supposedly calling her a b!tch. Doubt it was true, and if it was, what a bitchy drama queen. Besides, she wouldn’t believe Tara Reade about her prior trauma so we have no reason to believe her.
I think her attack on Cruz was bs when he agreed with her about the Robinhood thing and she said he “almost had me murdered.” I mean if that’s not politicizing it I don’t know what is, especially when Cruz of all people is trying to agree with her. That is a victimhood mentality that goes right to the core, it’s fine to be upset with him for contesting the election results but accusing him of trying to have her murdered is vile and slanderous.
