This happens to me often and I live in Miami where there is a vast population of various Hispanic backgrounds. I'm always getting called a gringa. I'm from Chile and a lot of us look white as fück, ok? -_-
@Naty2RC, I don't understand, in this day and age, why anyone in the US gives a flying fvck about the color of your skin. Weren't we supposed to be moving past that?
@Naty2RC, as a white hispanic also living in Miami, can confirm this happens daily
@DandyZombie35, true though my reaction of when it happens to me is of annoyance because of how frequently it occurs not because of anything malicious. People are always really nice about it and pleasantly surprised that I speak Spanish lol
@Naty2RC, White Chilean here too, a ton of us are white because Chile and Argentina is where all the Germans fled after WW2.
@Pyvin, yep, my dad's side is half Spanish, half German. They even named him Andres German Adolfo which reads really strange in English. .
@Naty2RC, I havent done my ancestry yet, but my cousin did, and he's only 20% native Chilean. My roots come from Spain though.
@Naty2RC, I'm half Argentinean living in AZ and I've never really had a problem with other Hispanics once I mention that my mom's from Buenos Aires but it bugs me to no end when paperwork asks for my race and the "mixed race" option says (not Hispanic or Latino)
There you go.
As a Mexican American, it is true, we all have this power.
Is Instagram Hispanic too then?
Oh man even if you look Hispanic people have the most stereotype expectations of how you dress, talk and present yourself
