@Prince super Vegeta , glad I'm not alone
@Prince super Vegeta , that's still less devastating than my sperm winning, according to my parents...
“Listen son. It all started when I won. I was number one. Then it all went downhill from there.”
Wasn't it that one or two sperm cells are required to break the shell of the egg before it can be fertilzed?
@Dick Gravatar, I don't know about the number but yes. The sperm cell to fertilize is never the first one there
@Dick Gravatar, apparently it takes around a million before one gets through...im having ivf at the moment, they collected 43 eggs from me and had to inject each one with a sperm otherwise it might not have worked. We have 10 embryos frozen now just waiting for them to pop one in my oven!
@Naughtyboob, how much does IVF cost (if you don’t mind me asking)? Also when they inject a single sperm, how do they know which is the good one to pick?
@Diabolik, it's about £11k a cycle at the clinic we are at. And they sort of spin the sperm and select the fastest ones, which are usually the strongest. Out of 43 only 10 made it so it's natural selection I suppose
@Dick Gravatar, it's more like it takes a whole bucket full before one gets in. They need to break through the nurse cells and zona pellucida first using their acrosomes, THEN one can fertilize the egg.
@Naughtyboob, learning something new everyday, also great to hear
No, you started out in somebody's balls.
