@Hockman9, Actually, Infinitys can be different sizes. While the example in the picture is 2 infinitys of the same size. But lets say you want to count all whole numbers, it will never end since you can allways add 1. Now Imagine we want to count all numbers (whole and decimals) there is literally an infinite amount of decimals between 1 and 2 (or 0 and 1 if we start from 0), so by the time we get to 10 (we cant, but Im just making an example) we have 9 (or 10 if we start at 0) infinitys. I think its mentioned in this video: Granted Infinitys are an imaginary concept and we might both be right. or both be wrong. or one wrong and one right. we might never know. on But 20 is more than 1 (Upvotes: 14)
@HiroAntagonist, The big diffrence is that if a layman deciedes he want to prove a scientific fact he read, he can. Sure he may need money for equipment, but it's not out of the scope of reality. If he want to prove a religon is correct he can refer to his holy scripture or point at nature and say "oh that cant happen randomly" @Dimir FTW if a scientist told me that he has facts about something, I would be sceptical. The scientist have a theory supported by evidence. That the moon have a dark side is fact, but what that does to the moon is theory. It's like evolution. It's a fact that it happens, but how it happens is a theory. on March for science signs (Upvotes: 12)
