@Jumpin Jive, the point of evolution isn't that animals just randomly change into other animals. That would just be silly. Evolution is where animals with more favorable traits survive in an environment. It's like entropy, in that it's not the result of some mysterious outside force, but rather a result of probability to an extent. With entropy, it's that the odds are so overwheingly high for something to be in a state of disorder rather than order. With evolution, it's that animals (or specific organisms within a species ) that have more favorable traits will survive to reproduce and pass on those traits. A finch won't survive to reproduce and give birth to a cat or fish, a finch with a sharp beak for digging into bark to get at insects in an environment in which a main source of readily available food are insects that live in tree bark will survive and reproduce, and is likely to give birth to another finch or two with that same sharp beak, which wod also likely survive to reproduce. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 9)
