@FlaecheZinker61, My little sister has Downsyndrome and she's 13, turning 14 in October. We see all of these other kids like her doing great things and she's just in a corner playing with a piece of paper and having the time of her life. I just want to know that she's gonna be alright once I go to college because my parents are in their 50s right now and I'm 16. Our school is teaching her life skills and knowledge and she seems to be doing very well, and sometimes she'll even try to do the laundry, though she refuses to let any of us (family) teach her how to do it. She's gotten into makeup and she won't let me or my mom show her how to put it on correctly. She watches YouTube videos about makeup and she LOVES scary things like Halloween and Goosebumps and zombies and vampires, and all she'll wear most of the time is black. Everybody claims they love her but nobody ever invites her to anything and she keeps saying that she wants to have a sleepover with some of her "friends" but we can on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 39)
@ConvexCatacombs, thank him enough for that. It's those kinds of things that makes their day, and they love so deeply and genuinely it's amazing. I say that they have a bigger piece of God in them than the rest of us, because their love is the kind of love that God has. It's unfailing, unconditional, and genuine. Okay, I'm done with my speech. Hope you all enjoyed it, haha. And have a great day all of you! 😁 on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 37)
@ConvexCatacombs, never get her to tell us which ones she wants to invite. And she's so sensitive as well. I remember once at church (the kids and adults are separated so the kids can learn their way) one of the adults who worked in their building came to get me from the service because she was crying. I asked her what was wrong and finally I figured out that a boy had been mean to her and she was just heartbroken by it (she loves to flirt with boys). And there's a boy who's my age and I've known him all my life and she loves him, and whenever anyone talks about him she'll say that he's "hers". I remember that once at church (we used to have bouncy castles for the kids to play in) and one of them began to deflate and my sister was still inside, and that boy dives head first into that thing and gets her out (yes, I cried) and I wish that boy was mine now but unfortunately, he's not. But he's my hero because more than once he's stood up for my little sister and she loves him, and I can't on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 35)
@Daynste, Sometimes guys don't take no for an answer and keep being persistent no matter how much you tell them to stop. There was a guy who I made it perfectly clear that I wasn't interested and he kept touching me and putting his hands on me even after I chewed him out about it. Finally had to end up calling the police. If this kind of thing would get him to stop pestering me, I'd do it. I'm just saying. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 27)
