I signed up just to share this story. I was a paramedic for many years, and one day we get called to a house for a hospice patient in distress. She had already passed though when we got there. We helped the family as we could, called hospice, etc. My partner had taken point, so I was standing quietly in the corner, as it was a very somber mood. This sign, though, was hanging on some twine beside me. I kept looking at it, there's no way it can be wired up I thought. Curiosity got the best of me, made sure nobody was looking, and I lifted the sign. I tried to stop, but a laugh escaped. Everybody is now staring at me. The husband said "you lifted the sign didn't you?". They all laughed when I said yes, as I was pretty embarrassed. I am glad though that I could help out a bit in that rough time. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 89)
That's pretty much the truth. Runners at major warehouses are paid to run to a shelf and grab stuff for an order. They carry a little PDA thing that tells them what to grab next, and it times them down to the second. They get docked pay or fired if they're late too often. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 50)
